Chinadaily BBS - Friendship, Love, Relationships - my girlfriend is Chinese

My girlfriend is Chinese Okay I'm going to be straight forward with what I'm about to say. I'm a black guy and I have a Chinese Girlfriend.

We've been going out just over a year now. We are both positive and opened minded people and are not bothered what the small minded people that pass comments about our relationship. I have been to China many times and have even meet her family, who have really like me and accept our relationship. Her parents were a little curious about me at first because there have never met a black guy before, but really wanted to know me as a person.

I really like her family. I think its really sad that more people can't adapt this way of thinking.

Its sad that people just judge other people by the colour of there skin or what there see on TV. I live in the UK and I have seen many situations of racism.

I've seen Chinese people racist towards black people and have seen White people being racist to Chinese people, all because they have a negative understanding of each other, where will it all end? I read a few of this forums and think most of he comment are negative racist toward black people. By writing such negative comments, it justifies and gives all people the right to be racist.

It gives the right for white people to be racist towards Chinese people and not give them equal opportunities in counties outside of there own. All this racism needs to stop and people should be judged by who they are and not what they are.

They are good and bad people in all races.

We're WHAT we are... ichiban--it doesnt matter where we are...people still callin us name & labelin us (i heard of hispanish & african americans makin fun of chinese like they have never seen asians in america);

As long as we DONT look or speak the same even if we do...people still have blatter mouth 'bout it (i learn not to overcome).

Not ev'rybody's has the mentality like you & i have

Welcome to the CD BBS ... You will also find many posters here racist towards white people.

Get over it We can get as angry as we want about racism or just get over it.

The only true way to overcome racism is through time....by teaching our children that race truly doesn't exist and we just are a people as 1. It has nothign to do with 1 specific race towards another cause its all of them.

Not just white to chinese but black to chinese, arab to chinese, hispanic to chinese its a global thing and its VICE VERSA so don't start thinking superiority already Chinese folks. Just teach your children and many others will do the same, and as we become more of a global world it will lesson...but truth is, there are people out there who are racist and that will pass forward, it will just be their children to break the line and say "no" through education and the schools -D

Racism. happens ALL over the world.

Not a thing to concern or worry about.

Just accept that it will always exist. I do think its good that you try to learn and accept and study many things in China, so that her family can and will accept you more.

Mostly its not about straight racism, but more a difference that they cannot accept, think its "weird", not used to, therefore not acceptable.

It takes time and experience for this to change.

Sometimes it can be a long while, which everyone in the worlds knows and has to know.

At least I'm not the sort of person who holds racism.

I love the free minded of oversea friends, I also love the gentle and modest style of our chinese people.

Racism is like the rain and the forest As long as there are people Racism lives on.. It's existence  is only a matter of degree It's significance is relative to your point of reference Racism is like the moon and stars Even if you can't see them ...they are there You want to wipe out racism You need to wipe out the human race first it sounds hopeless... Yes for the next thousands of years...it is hopeless to find a world without racism But there is hope that human can be evolved into a higher being before killing themselves with their own hands Perhaps there is a turning point in the path of human evolution Maybe if human can survive for another 40 thousands years At last we can have a world without a single trace of racism (when human genes are thoroughly mixed)! In the meantime , do your best! In many places...racism has been kept at an tolerable level It is not a totally bad and evil jungle out there! So, create your own paradise! lotus flower serves as a good example It grows in and from a pool of mud....look at how beautiful the flowers are Hard to believe that all those beautiful and graceful flowers are from the gutter of such dirty and muddy soil! Fact is though you rarely see a Chinese woman with a black guy,  if they're looking for a foreign boyfriend they quite often openly state someone with 'white skin' as a requirement. It isn't necessarily racist though maybe they just dont find black guys attractive-nothing racist about that. Im a white Anglo Saxon living in the UK, i havent seen any racism towards the Chinese here but they dont mix much with us. We have tougher law here than anywhere else against racism,  people here are often called 'racist' simply because we want immigration controls-our small island has enough people now with 60 million yet still they want to come here to the UK-the second favourite destination in the world next to the USA for migrants.

It's hard to do than to say.

Racism, although there are many different ways that every country to dismiss it, but it seems never stop.

We , as a a common person, what can we do is to make ourselves to accept other different color person from everywhere.

If we can do it, I think the gap between other racisms will become smaller and smaller.

Have a Chinese girl friend Are you serious?

It is okay just to have her as a sex partner, but are you really mean to have her as you life partner?

How could you bridge the cultural gap and far deeper gap in family background.

How much do you actually know of each other.

I used to have a German boyfriend, but ended up in parting.

It need a long time to get ride of racism I don't think that chinese are racist toward black people.It just because that they do not used to accept the marital relationship between black people and chinese.

As we know, in history,  chinese had little chance to contact with black becauce of lgeographic restriction.

So they are not familiar with black people.

At the same time, the traditional thought has also impact on the acceptance to black people as son-in-law or girl-in-law.

In chinese history, it also took a long long time to finish national intergration.

So I think as time goes, chinese will be used to contact with black people .

Since chinese people is a tolerant, open-minded nationality.

In history, we also accepted Israelian and Arab which have mingled into chinese people

There are many dark skin Chinese living in China They are so dark That you think they are from Africa Just to qualify Not all people from Africa are dark skin people!

Ive been studying a Chinese dating site for some time looking for a Chinese wife and im amazed at the difference in features in Chinese women. Just looking at pics i would never have guessed some of them are of Chinese origin, i had a stereotype in my mind which was false. Yeah the great majority are slim with long black hair ( just that alone is attractive to western men because we have so many fat women in the west   )   But apart from that they are so different and varied.

You have many choices    For sure Not all Chinese look alike Same can be said to the stereotype reversal Not all white men look alike!

Well, your relationship is only about you, and your gf, her family and yours.

If they dont have problem with your background, what to worry about?? Stop thinking about this racism thingy, it is inevitable, because there are different colors in this world.
