Quote: : Online Sexual Harassment How far has the Sexual Harassment law really gone? Lets say a man sends a woman a picture of his penis on the internet once, is this viable in court as sexual harassment? Discuss ... Seriously, the question should be addressed to a law professional, besides it would vary from country to country.

Please specify a country, so that this discussion could be considered as viable.

The law says you have no reasonable expectation of privacy online. The only recourse you have is to pressure a person's provider to drop them as a customer.

Most will listen to a valid complaint, because of the potential legalities involved.

They would rather drop a troublemaker than go to court. Different story if you're a minor child.

There are a number of international treaties which protect children from predators, etc.

Then the FBI, Interpol, etc.

Get involved. If you're an adult, you're supposed to police your own behavior.

Most have to learn by doing. x

Well we have to know who Kreplach sent the image too.

Knowing him, he was probably just asking his mom what it was...

Kreplach is Bardaked ... And I know you had something to do with it. You're jealous!!! That's sick!

Only if it continued.

After learning the person was a minor.

Now you enter very thin ice legally.

You have to have some kind of proveable intent.

Very hard to do unless you get a transcript of the conversation.

Sane people would politely bow out at that point, maybe with apologies.

If you continue the conversation knowing a minor is on the other end, you run a risk of incriminating yourself.

X Adults soliciting sex to cops posing as underage minors over internet sends dozens to jail all the time.

How is that legal when the cop is not a underage minor? Lying about your age ...doesn't make you a minor child? How is it they can get away with that?

Well, but I understand that we (you and I) live in different countries ... I think, as far as Pravda.ru Forum is concerned, "persistent trolling" is a far bigger and more relevant issue than "online sexual harassment."

You are going to break Kreplunk's heart...

Do you think there's overlap?

In my humble opinion "persistent trolling" (PT) can exist on its own...

At least on Pravda.ru Forum "online sexual harassment" is virtually non-existent, unlike PT
