Whats the best blogging scheme to increase traffic - Webmaster Forum
I have been suggested by some friends to open 4 blogs and connect them to my main site so i can increase traffic .
I have also heard that this way is against google TOS.
My friends are saying that i shouldnt have a link of those blogs in my site but links of your site into those blogs.
How effective is this method?
IS there any other scheme that has shown to be the most effective

It is not against Google Policy as long as you are linking to smililar sites and those links have value and are useful;
Meaning you are not doing it to manipulate PageRank or for the sake of linking.
And if you want to link to your own sites which are different and not related AND you will just do it for traffic, then use "nofollow" attribute so you won't be penalized by Google.

The ideas which you're trying to do are not good..
That wont help you much rather i says you drop your blog to many blogging directories, dont forget to add them in technorati, likewise there are many more, use micro blogging for your blog topics on like twitter, participate in other blogs like commenting, be on topic..
Some forums also allows blog post to get added with their rss so do you use it there..

There are no tricks to increase se rank and traffic.
Just a lot of hard work building lots of quality pr backlinks and good content, avoiding duplications.

If the linking blogs are new and not related to your site.
It won't help anyhow.
Instead try to gain links from established sites.

This method is not fair.
You have to increase your blog traffic in natural way like social book marking, article submission and all.

You can create up to 10 blogs and link to your site from them all, this wont affect your sites pagerank because all of those blogs are unranked.
Instead of wasting your time creating those blogs because you want to use them to link to your site, just comment on other blogs that have been ranked by google and you will have a better result.

Um, I'm not sure what the rest of you are talking about, but linkwheels work, which is what I think the OP was trying to describe.
You leverage all the free Web 2.0 sites to artificially create backlinks to your main site.
It's not against Google's TOS.
It's just another way to market yourself.
