Photo Viewer/Editor recommendations ?? - Bird-Box Forums
I'm confused by tidal wave of crappy/repackaged programs out there.
Can anyone recommend any programs?
I'm looking to organize them and fix things like red eye, washed out colours and the like.
thanks

Quote: : Photo Viewer/Editor recommendations ??
There are excellent photo viewers and the same for photo editors, but they are not the same thing.
It would be a mistake to try to use an editor for a viewer or vise-versa.
you cant beat ACDSee for a Photo Viewer .
Hands down it beats anything else in the category;
IrfanView Graphic Viewer is a very close second and about as popular but for me i like the ACDSee prog best.
Its very light weight and easy on sys resources and extermely fast also.
Ive used it for almost 10 yrs now and wouldnt consider switching to anything else.
However neither of thes programs are very good Photo Editors , they arent even in the same class of programs.
So for viewing, renaming, organizing and most other general uses get a Viewer.
for a Photo Editor you want a graphics manipulation program and for this there is probally nothing better than Photoshop.
Close seconds in this category would be GIMP, Paintshop PRO, and a few others lesser known progs.
I use both photoshop and GIMP and either will do almost any photo editing function you can dream up;
But these large powerful graphics progs do not work well as photo viewers/organizers.
for anyone interested i put up a copy of ACDSee V5.
Its not the newest ver but it is the last version that had no "bloat" features.
ACDSee V5 10mb rar no pw reg file included
