WTF iTunes and ipod - The Student Room
WTF iTunes and ipod
WTF...
so i opened iTunes today and found an update to 9.01.
So i update, buy a few songs and then try and sync my iPod, but hey it doesn't sync.
It is recognized, but when i try and sync, the "do not disconnect ipod is syncing" is displayed, but not the actual bar where it says what song or movie is syncing.
Btw i have an ipod nano 4th gen and am on win xp.
I've tried to restore,and it erased all the songs on my ipod but then again it won't sync.
So I'm going to back my library up and downgrade (hopefully) back to 9.0 and hoping that the library will work with 9.0.
Damn Apple. Anyone else that cannot sync?

Does you computer actually recognise that the iPod is plugged in?
If it doesn't, you could try something as simple as using a different USB port to see if that works.
Failing that, you could try a system restore (though TBH I doubt this would affect iTunes) or just uninstall and reinstall iTunes.

I've had this problem recently when trying to sync my ipod to my new laptop everything got screwed up.
Now I use Winamp which can be used to sync your iPod to your computer.

I downgraded to itunes 9.0 and it still wouldn't sync.
It would still hang.
So i tried the "Reset Sync History" and bam, it syncs properly again.

You might want to get the 9.01 upgrade now to make sure that works as well, and stop it nagging you to upgrade.
