Intel® Celeron® Processor 900 (2.20 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) Good for games? - The Student Room
Intel® Celeron® Processor 900 (2.20 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) Good for games?
Is Intel® Celeron® Processor 900 (2.20 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) a fast enough to have a 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330 running on it?
I'm on Dell, setting up a lappy and i have the choices i need the
256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330
As im doing graphics design etc, so i could pick that prosessor or
Intel® Celeron Dual Core T3000 (1.80 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 1 MB L2 Cache)
will the Is Intel® Celeron® Processor 900 (2.20 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) be okay to keep up with my GFX Card??
*EDIT*
Also 3072MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [1x2048 + 1x1024 RAM

I'm pushing this over to Mobile Computing as it's more about a laptop's system spec than gaming (and Intel Celeron's crap for gaming, in my opinion).
Unfortunately I don't know enough about ATI graphics cards to give an opinion on that;
I've been using nVidia GeForce cards for years now.

the only thing celerons are good for, is ensuring you return to the shop next year to replace your slow computer.
if you can, try to get an intel core2duo (possibly an AMD equiv.
- I dont really know what their mobile stuff is up to atm), although that may be difficult, depending on what your budget is.
the graphics card is ok, but dont expect miracles as it is only a bottom end part, again you may not have much choice, dependant on your budget.

I have a Celeron processor in the laptop I'm using at the moment.
It's slow and pretty awful at a lot of tasks.
The graphics card isn't too bad (should be able handle older games such as half life 2 with ease, newer games might run with turned down settings)

Re: Intel® Celeron® Processor 900 (2.20 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) Good for games?
Ahh i see, i hear you all, well i have a good 6GB RAM and 1TB and 2 processors etc on my PC, its quite new and paid a lot for it, so tbh, think ill just get a basi clappy simply for msn checking mail, maybe the odd game or program and run word, nothing important or anything that needs good hardware :)
what would you all reccomend for an "ok" set up?
2GB RAM atleast
GFX card wont really be important
What about processors???
Again, just for simple tasks like on the net checking hotmail, maybee watch a movie or 2???
Any links or spec info for an "Average/OK" basic lappy please.
Thanks <3

that's the cheaper one.
If you are only going to use it for internet, word processing and listening to music etc, it will be fine:)

Re: Intel® Celeron® Processor 900 (2.20 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB) Good for games?
For a performance laptop - you should get atleast 2ghz of core 2 duo.
Not celeron etc.
More importantly however, is the GPU - http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-...ist.844.0.html use this as a guide.
After rank 80, they do fall under tier 3 imo, with the top tier being around the top 30.
The one you had on the OP, came at rank 116.
It is to your discretion, as to how high or low your willing to go - it will really depend on how much you game/what games etc.
You should also request a minimum of 2GB ram, 4GB is nice though..

Quote: : it doesnt have 2 processors physically, but 2 cores.
Meaning it can do 2 things at once:)
cloud wi-fi is basically...
when you are in a hotspot in a hotel or city, you can get online for free, if the hotspot is provided by that company offering it for free:)

if you are using programs that can utilise 4 cores, then quad core ftw:)
