Do we have a TV thread?

I couldn't find one.

I say this one. These are all the shows that I have downloaded, watched, and reccomend that everyone else downloads and watches.

Only narrative TV, plz.

Talking about TV could happen here too, I guess?

I'll do my best to be spoiler free. Heroes: Similar to the X-Men, a sudden shift in evolution has given people all over the world super powers.

It's pretty damn awesome. Lost: A plane crashes on "The Island".

The survivors struggles to, well, survive.

They're faced against both the elements, and the islands other inhabitants.

It is extremely confusing, especially in the second season, but due to confused viewers they've decided to start explaining things a bit.

There's a conspiracy, and hints at the paranormal. Doctor Who: The Doctor in his time machine (the TARDIS) flies around space and time with his hot, British, female companion.

There are Cybermen, Daleks, and a new mysterious enemy for the third season.

The show's had dozens of seasons, this is a revival of the old show. Torchwood: A Doctor Who spin-off.

Captain Jack Harkness and his team run around Cardiff in a black van fighting aliens and stuff that fall through the space/time rift.

It's sci-fi, but it feels like a cop show.

Not safe for kids.

Jack always has his time with the Doctor in the back of his mind. Battlestar Galactica: The 13 colonies of human civilization have been nuked out of existence by a race of robots created by humans.

The only survivors are those who were in space during the bombing and who did not get exploded by the robot's space ships.

This is the only military-style science fiction I've ever enjoyed.

My favourite part is the interplanetary politics and how it has been shaped by the destruction of those planets.

Others enjoy the dogfights and evil killer robots. Dead Like Me: George is struck by a toilet seat and becomes a reaper, forced to take peoples souls before they die or shit all goes to hell.

She misses her family, and has to cope with living on her own.

Sarcastic, dark type of funny. Firefly: A space-western.

The United States and China teamed up to colonize space.

The heroes are former anti-confederation soldiers aboard a Firefly-model ship.

Their enemies are other rebels, the space government, and some sort of space vikings. Rescue Me: Following 9/11, an emotionally broken firefighter fights fires and struggles to maintain his family while also drinking too much and having tons of sex.

Drama! Wonderfalls: Antisocial twenty-something from an overachieving family starts to hear voices from toy animals while she's working retail.

She does what they say and stuff turns out for everybody.

Canceled after three episodes, but 13 are available online. Yes, (Prime) Minister: A British MP suddenly finds himself in a cabinet position and struggles to get his policies against a very change-resistant civil service.

He becomes Prime Minister for the spin off.

I don't know if I'll be able to watch season 3 because it made me hate most of the characters. Lost was only good for the first and second seasons.

Sudden improvements in the last month.

Yeah Heroes S2 didnt quite do it for me like season 1.

I'll prob still watch S3 tho..

FIREFLY IS AWSOME!

Shame that series died The Office - UK or US, both are FREAKN awsome.

Its set in and around the office of a paper company.

If you havent seen it yet, watch the UK ver first.

It might make the first season of the US ver a bit meh (the story is a bit similar) but yeah you'll prob appreciate the whole thing more.

I think a new episode of season 4 will be airing soon (delayed because of the whole writers strike thing).. Arrested Development - A troubled family trying to get their father out of jail & their family name out of debt.

Just got into season 1 and am loving it so far..

I feel it wont be long before i start bugging my friends for a lend of S2 & 3 The Mighty Boosh - A UK comedy series.

Its freakn weird.

Revolves around 2 guys who work in a run down zoo & go on adventures.

Hard to recommend because i think it requires a unique taste..

Havent watched S2 yet, that is something else i will be requesting my friend a lend of Teachers - UK drama/comedy series.

Shows the lives of a handfull of "teachers" in school or at the pub.

Despite what people say S4 is just as good as the first. There was a US version, however its nothing like it, being just a ordinary sitcom.

It was axed after only 1 season. Sinchronicity - another UK series.

A humorous drama revolving around the relationships between 2 best mates & his best mates girlfriend.

I think its only a 6 part series, unsure of a second season.

Might look that up. I also watch Supernatural, to get my ghoulie fix now that buffys gone & Greys Anatomy because Katherine Heigl is a tasty bit of crumpet Quote: : Phillip is better and more regal.

Spaced : Simon Pegg's TV show before he did Shaun of the Dead (did anything occur in between?

I dunno). Made in 1999/2000, it's about two young adults who pretend to eb a couple in order to rent a flat.

Hilarity ensues. In Pie's words, it's reference-tastic.

Lots of nice cameos. Black Books : Bernard Black (Dylan Moran) is a grumpy dude who owns a bookstore.

Extremely funny show, check it yo. Garth Merenghi's Darkplace : Schlock "80's" sci-fi/horror/medical drama.

Pretty much the greatest thing ever.

BE ATTITUDE FOR GAINS... 1 : NO REPINE 2 : NEVER SHRINK 3 : SATORI MIND

Quote: : Garth Merenghi's Darkplace : Schlock "80's" sci-fi/horror/medical drama.

Pretty much the greatest thing ever. QFT Well I'm awake so the hardest part is already over.

This season of LOST is incredibly better than last season.

Also, I don't think your explanation of the series is fair.

They're not explaining things because of confused viewers, they're doing it because they have a story to tell in 6 seasons and we just passed the half-way point, things are going to naturally get explained at some point.

And that's now. I also think you should mention the huge element of mystery regarding the nature of the Island, the "Others" and the connections between the characters.

You know, the stuff that keeps us watching week after week.

"My rule of life prescribed as an absolutely sacred rite;

Smoking cigars and also the drinking of alcohol before, after and if need be during all meals and in the intervals between them." -Winston Churchill

Flight of the Conchords: Two awkward dudes prone to breaking into song from NZ trying to make it big in NY.

Kind of like a mix between Tenacious D and Napoleon Dynamite. The Young Ones: One of the best shows ever.

If you haven't seen it, you should. Trailer Park Boys: Three dudes who live in a trailer park somewhere in Canada try and make an easy living through nefarious means. I am pretty terrible at blurbs.

Black books & flight of the concords = awsome Quote: : Phillip is better and more regal.

Dexter Forensic blood splatter anaylsist is a serial killer in his spare time and makes one of the best shows ever made for tv ever. Go watch it NOW With this one power shot, you'll see what vengence means.

I downloaded Dexter, I just can't force myself to start it. You know what?

This season of Lost is a lot better than I'm making it out to be.

I just wasn't sure how safe it was to talk about Lost. Spoiler: show Isn't the very existance of the others a spoiler?

It's also important to mention DHARMA, Penny's father, the buttons they had to press every so many minutes, the giant electromagnetic wave, Locke being healed, every connection between the characters, and the implied time travel. I'm always curious about the extent of the connection of the characters.

Did everybody die in the proper order, or are people connected to people that are dead now?

Peep Show : Possibly the funniest show on TV at the moment;

Original and very well done. Freaks and Geeks : It's a love-or-hate kind of show.

I love it. You have to watch it to understand. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia : One of the best shows I'd never heard of, hateful characters and hateful plots = epic hilarity. Clone High : The greatest thing ever to grace Teletoon. Life on Mars : A modern-day cop is sent back in time to the 1970s.

Very well done. I am not Toby.

Some Comedy Curb your Enthusiasm "He's got it all: a loving wife, good friends, a successful career, a great home..what could possibly go wrong for Larry David?

Seinfeld co-creator Larry David stars as himself in this hilarious, off-kilter comedy series that presents an unflinching, self-depreciating depiction of his life." Father Ted "Have mercy on poor Father Ted Crilly.

He has so much to contend with when it comes to dealing with the folks of Craggy Island, Ireland.

There's Father Dougal McGuire, who is as dimwitted as they come;

And then there is Father Jack Hackett who lives for the simple pleasures of life (sleeping, drinking, and swearing).

Ted tries to bring stability to his congregation as well as the surreal townspeople of Craggy Island" Alan Partridge "In the first series (entitled "Knowing Me, Knowing You") Alan Partridge is an insincere and skill-less chat show host.

Partridge frequently demonstrated his insecurities and total lack of knowledge about his guests' lives during each "broadcast".

The follow-up series observes Partridge as he tries to rebuild his career by hosting a local radio show.

Despite being a total loser Alan is still under the impression he is a major media star." Blackadder "In this series, Captain Edmond Blackadder is an intelligent, self-centered officer in the trenches of World War I, whose aim is to survive til the war is over.

He is assisted by the eager but stupid Lt.

George Colthurst and the moronic, grungy Private Baldrick.

Blackadder's commander is the insane General Melchert, who is assisted by Blackadder's rival Captain Darling." Arrested Development surely everyone's watched this by now Office (uk) "The story of an office that faces closure when the company decides to downsize its branches.

A documentary film crew follow staff and the manager Brent as they continue their daily lives" Extras ""Extras" is about an out-of-work actor (Gervais) who struggles for work when he keeps losing his parts to stars like DeNiro.

However, he insists that they're "just lucky"." The IT Crowd "The IT Crowd is set in the offices of Reynholm Industries, a fictitious British corporation in central London.

It focuses on the shenanigans of the three-strong IT support team located in a dingy, untidy and unkempt basement - a stark contrast to the shining modern architecture and stunning London views enjoyed by the rest of the organisation." That Mitchell and Webb Look Sketch show from the people in Peep Show Look Around You "The first (2002) series was a parody of the patronising 1970s "For Schools and Colleges" programmes, especially ITV's series "Experiment".

The second (2005) series was a parody of "Tomorrow's World"" Bottom "Bottom is another comedy series created by the team that made The Young Ones.

Edward (Adrian Edmondson) and Richard (Rik Mayall) are best buddys living off the government doing nothing more than having a good time and breaking stuff." Monty Python its monty python Red Dwarf The adventures of the last human being alive and his friends, stranded three million years into deep space on the mining ship Red Dwarf. The Armando Iannucci Shows "comedian Armando Iannucci's observational comedy shows" Great spoiler site for Lost hehe Quote: : The above post was created solely for the purpose of mocking you and everything you believe in.

Nice to have you Guys!

Monk : Tony Shalhoub is the star.

That would be enough to get anyone with taste to watch it, but apparently that isn't enough for most people.

He plays Adrian Monk, who is basically a very cute version of Sherlock Holmes that is everythingaphobic.

He's always right so people listen to him, albiet irked that they didn't get it first.

He also has a sidekick who is very eager to do anything to help the case. Psyche : James Roday is the star.

I never heard of him either, so that isn't enough for everyone!

He plays Shawn Spencer, who is basically a very cute version of Sherlock Holmes that is pretending to be psychic in order for people to listen to him.

He doesn't have a degree in detectiveness, so that's the only way I guess.

He's generally right so people listen to him, albiet irked by his ridiculous unprofessionalness.

He also has a sidekick who does not like anything about the cases. Do I like funny mystery shows?

You betcha! No, I will not admit Psyche is a complete rip-off of Monk, because I'm far too biased to see the truth. "History will be kind to me, for I intend to write it."

Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls, Dexter, and Clone High are my favorite shows. Weeds - Suburban mother starts selling (later on growing) weed to support her family after her husband dies of a massive heart attack. (I've missed most of the 2nd season and all of the 3rd) Queer as folk - follows the live of five gay men and a lesbian couiple in pittsburg.

So much happens in this show I can't even begin to tell you. Oz - The nick name for a maximum security prison every inmate is either serving for life or is on death row from a violent crime (ranger from murder to child rape).

They all live in an experimental wing of the prison called emerald city with focuses on rehab and teaching responsibility.

Show peak when theres a hostile riot and the prisoners take over the building.

It's pretty nuts.

Also lots of prison rape and shanking. IN Treatment - A psychiatrists see a different patient every day from Monday to Thursday and on Friday he sees his own shrink.

It's start off slow but really gets good.

I really like the gymnast who seems to like throwing herself in front of cars, and the air force jet pilot who goes back to the places he bombed. I'm also addicted to Law and Order and CSI ( don't like the Miami version though, it's horrible) i watch those everyday.

I heard tentacles!
