GTAForums.com -> Does the Elegy spawn in LS?
So im trying to get rare cars early in the game before Grey imports to get cars you cant normally get EP/FP, and for the sake of getting rare cars early
I was doing vigilante and i was looking for the Euros ( i came across 5 hotknifes btw while looking for it!) but instead i found an elegy
Now my garrage space is very limited at the moment, so is it worth storing this Elegy, or does one simply spawn in LS in rich areas like Rodeo?
Same with the Feltzer as well, i checked FAQs but it said they only spawn in LV and SF, but those FAQs have been wrong before....
Another car i need help with now is the Alpha.
I just found this as well and im really low on car space.
Im thinking of jumping the gap to SF and storing the street racers in the Doherty garrage
So really what i need to know is what cars from the Wang Car Autos spawn in LS and whcih ones dont, i found a Uranus before as well but didnt know either.

I would store it, but they have been known to spawn around Richman and Rodeo if you are driving the correct car to spawn its pop-cycle.
There is no other parked location for the Elegy other than Wang Cars after you complete the steal car missions in San Fierro.

The Elegy spawns in LS.
And it looks like the Uranus does as well.
I suspect it'll show up in the airport region.
You should compile a list of non-LS cars.
Does the Quad spawn in unrestricted areas?
I'm pretty sure the Roadtrain won't.
Hustlers only spawn in LV unless Denise is active.

Ok thanks. Il ditch the Alpha, its maknig less room for cooler cars like the Pheonix i have.
I came across the Feltzer as well, stored it underneath my Ranger somehow in El Corona.
I have a feeling it wil vanish soon lol as soon as i open the garrage it starts smoking...
Yeah i got the hustler as well from Vigilante.
Since i made this Vigilante i have been on fire today.
In one hour i have found these cars
Hotknife X4
Tourismo
Hustler
Pheonix
Alpha
Elegy
Feltzer
what i do is drive up and down East Beach, the cars spawn there all the time, just cancel and restart the missions until they do and i usually find 3 cars in under a minute or so
Edit: just checked gamerladies map, the Quad bike does spawn in non restricted area, LS side so il ignore that.
The Roadtrain spawns in Angel Pine, now idea where i will store it though.
Cool thing i can do with my El Corona garrage is by putting the proofed Monster and Ranger at the back of the garrage, i can reverse smaller cars underneath them.
Only way you can get them though is towing them out, but adds me more space.
I dont think il impound the roadtrain as i fixed my impound problem, you MUST impound the helicopters in this order.
Police Maverik, Raindance then news chopper, it sets them in that right spawning order so you can have all 3, il post a pic later.
About your Topfun van, any luck impounding it in LV?
If you can spawn one in LS no point impounding it i guess though

Feltzer is another rich car and appears randomly in LS.
I found a Uranus fairly quickly in the LS airport.
How about the "Crap" versions of the Glendale and Sadler?
Or a Buccaneer which only spawns as a Da Nang gang car?
Update: No luck spawning another Topfun in LV, but I did give it a shot.
I can't figure out why it's so damn rare.
Maybe I'll give it another shot with my special Topfun only cargrp file just to prove it can be impounded.
I'm pretty sure it can be, it's just a regular car.
Here's an oddball note.
When the Dune is impounded in LV it tends to be invisible until CJ bumps into it.

While doing vigilante i have come across 3 banged up Glendales, i was a bit curious but i just assumed that they were driving crazy as it was Vigilante after all.
What is this Da Nang Buccaneer car?
Also i recall your note on the NRG version, it was slightly different in that video with Katie.
Do i just go to its fixed spawn locations and hope it is the different version?
I swear Magrite on GameFAQS said he had a similar version for the FCR but i had no idea what he was talking about.
Thanks for the Feltzer update, now i gotta quickly tow it out before it explodes...

Buccaneer is the gang car of the Da Nang Boys along with the Manana and Tampa.
I'd say keep the Uranus if you find one, I had no problem finding the Feltzer, Sultan, Elegy and Jester in Los Santos ...
But I have seen the Uranus in free-roam only twice or thrice in the three years that I have been playing (Near the SF Airport)

Ok, so is the Buccaneer that the gang drives any different to the normal one that is in LS, or does it not spawn in LS at all?
Il swap the Elegy for the Uranus if i get another one ( my SF garrage ate it...) il continue looking for the Euros, that is a rare one for an early save file

Does anyone know a fool-proof method of obtaining the "engine-less" NRG (or the NRG without the faring)?
Or is it just by chance?
|
|

I have no idea even how to get one by chance, id like to know too.
Anyway another car you could consider i guess as rare early is the LV cop car
Update: I finally got the Euros from Vigilante!
At the moment the cars i have stored from vigilante are here Euros, Pheonix, Tourismo, Hustler and the Hotknife.
So, are there any other cars from Vigilante i should get?
I maxed out my driving skill doing this so it wasnt a complete waste of time.
I think i can go for your topfun van now Orion, although the only spaces i have left are in the Doherty garrage, and i would rather not store stuff in there as it always vanishes after a while and is hard to get too.
But seeing as its just a van i guess its like a collectable so who cares where its stored.

Yes, the Topfun can be impounded at the LVPD using the Emerald Isle Carpark.
No, there isn't much point since it spawns in LS.
The vehicle is damn difficult to spawn.
Even with all car groups set to use only the Topfun I still had to jump through all kinds of hoops to get it to spawn.
For the most part, only cop cars spawn, all over the whole map - it's very strange.
However, every once in a while the Topfun vans start appearing.
I think once it might have been related a train spawning but I couldn't repeat that.
I finally ended up starting a new game and suddenly they appeared.
I've go no idea what the hell is up with that spawn.
Buccaneer: Looks like it should be a cool lowrider but isn't.
I'm not sure if it's worth collecting.
I'm just making suggestions.
It doesn't spawn in LS.;
Only in Da Nang turf and using the crappy car cheat.
Engineless NRG: This is probably more rare than that elusive Topfun.
I'm not sure, but maybe once I found one that spawned without help, but I hear that occasionally the variation sometimes appears on it's own at one of the various spawn spots.
I've got a vehicle spawn tool and pop them out all the time.
The variation appears most often with this tool.
I'm not sure if it's something about how it spawns the vehicle or if it's a matter of repetition.
Either way, it's still really rare - 1 out of hundreds, maybe.
I wouldn't try for it, but swing by the spawn spots often and take a look.
The sure fire way of getting an Engineless NRG is to spawn one with mission coding and set the variation, but this is PC specific.
The other way that also works on PS2 is to write one directly into a garage, but this requires a cheat device program or save hacking.
Either way, it's probably not something appropriate for Jack's save.
!!GC!!
- There are several Engineless NRGs in the Chain Game garages.
They were written directly to the garage and were the original mutant bikes until we figured out how to install mod wheels on bikes using the same trick.
I don't think the rare FCR variation was Engineless, or missing part of the windscreen.
What I remember was something about an odd muffler variation, but can't remember for sure.
I think it appeared on a PS2 save, otherwise I would have asked for a copy of the save so I could check the variation in the garage data.
There might be some information under the variation notes somewhere.
I could check to see what's been reported.
BTW, if you want to see something really strange, try parking the trailer-stairs found at the airport (SF) inside of the Doherty garage.
It's not worth it to attempt with a wanted level.
I found a Uranus very quickly once I knew where to look.
Airport traffic - not the baggage, tug, forklift airport runway traffic, but the cars driving around near the terminals.
The "ghost" Glendales are usually the pre-damaged versions.
They are parked in a number of remote locations in the country and desert.
There is also a pre-damaged version of the Sadler.
I'm not all that sure they are worth collecting - just another idea.
How about that Monster at the Flint trailer park?
Contrary to reports in older guides, it's always available, but might require a bit of coaxing.
The SF and LV cop cars aren't too difficult to find in LS.
They have a habit of still spawning as you return from restricted areas.
You can use the trick of flying high above the ground and descending quickly to trick the game into spawning a few cars from the last known car group before the game catches up.
The trick works for rare LS cars like the Turismo and Bullet as well.

Well i wasted a lot of time in vigilante getting the tourismo then lol.
Doesnt amtter maxed my driving skill which is something i wasnt looking forward to.
Thanks for all that info, i think im actually done with my vehicle collection.
I just need to wait till Michelle gets home so i can get the Romero again which got eaten, and get the Bandito to the johnson house which was also eaten.
Apart from that, the other garrages are all full.
The LS impound is full with Police, news and raindance choppers.
However im considering putting the leviathan in the SF impound manually.
I might just forget about the topfun, sounds like it takes you ages using PC stuff to help speed up the process, i think i have spent enough time on this file as it is, i thought it would be finished like a month ago but new stuff keeps popping up.
My final challenge is the Rustler, il give it a few more shots.
In my opinion the hardest part is getting it out of the airport, and off that overpass.
This has nothing to do with the cops though, just landing it.
In my no star file I got it perfect so no damage is done, if i can do it again i might have a chance at getting it in the garrage.
I also have a really easy technique for storing it, simply back up paralell to the garrage door and it always curves in perfectly.
Those trailer stairs things, i never really noticed them before till i fooled around with my heatseeking rocket launcher, i realised i could target them.
To get them to the garrage, can you tow them or something?

Another rare vehicle:
Berkleys RC Van appears in the Desert (PC);
I have found it on the freeway going west from Las Venturas passing by Hunter Quarry.
That was after Las Venturas was already unlocked though, so I dont know if it appears prior to that.
Quote: a Buccaneer which only spawns as a Da Nang gang car
It also spawns with average characters driving/riding in it, not just Da Nang gang members.
(PC)

Oh zmoon we were referring to the RC van as the Topfun van, Orion also found that it spawns in LS sometimes as well.

gotcha;
I always give the name that appears at the bottom right-corner of the screen (PC), that way everyone knows what Im referring to.

Thanks for the info, Orion
On a recent SnP i did, i found a Berkley's RC Van when i landed on the ground after Stowaway .
So, yes, it is was in the desert (seems to be the only place they are.)
It was right next to the gas station/garage South-west of the Abandoned Airstrip.

I wouldnt say only, they have been known to spawn in Willowfield.
Because they spawn in LS im going to ignore them completly, seems like too much effort for me.

Sorry about the Topfun/Berkley's RC Van confusion.
I had defined things a little better in a discussion we had on another forum and picked things up here in mid-conversation.
That vehicle is really odd.
I assigned it to the only vehicle that would spawn for any ped group in every area and San Andreas was pretty much a ghost town with cops.
I'm not sure why it doesn't spawn very often, but suspect it has something to do with male01 being the only driver and that ped isn't supposed to be part of any group.
It tends to appear most often when San Andreas is a bit confused because a new game was started, a mission ended, other scripts were running, and perhaps when trains are spawning;
Maybe because male01 also drives the trains.
However, it will appear in several areas with enough persistence.
Topfun/Berkey's RC Van is part of the Out of Town Factory Group (Green Palms, Octane Springs, Sherman Dam, Fallen Tree, Easter Bay, a few others but none in LS) and Workers.
The workers spawn in the Desert, Industry, and Airports (not the runway) so they can spawn in several areas of LS.
I found a couple at Ocean Docks, and a few more in a spot in Willowfield.
I have my doubts about the Topfun actually spawning in the Out of Town Factory zones.
The few I've seen at Sherman Dam and Octane Springs may have been part of a transition form a desert region.
I hung out for an hours or more at Fallen Tree when I found a spot along side of the road that was in the zone and not restricted and never saw a single one.
BTW, I never noticed before, but certain zones, Out of Town Factory and Industry in particular, spawn a lot more traffic if CJ watch perpendicular to the road.
Other zones (Country) tend to spawn more traffic if CJ looks in the distance down the road.

Thats strange, i just noticed a similar spawning trick yesterday as well.
I was at the Ocean Docks looking for a tow truck, standing around and nothing really happened.
I took a few steps forward and in the distance i could see cars spawning one after the other constantly, but if i looked at that spot in any other angle it would take ages.
Thanks for the info on the Berkely RC Van, i might get it after i get 69/70 Unqiue jumps and max money and flying skill, as they are the last things i need to do.
Anyway im now curious about those trailer stairs.
Are they they ones you can target with the rocket launcher?
I have never really done anything with them before, to get them to Doherty i assume you just push them with a car or something?
|
|
 |
|

The trailer stairs can be towed with either a tug, or a baggage.
I can remember now but I seem to remember one or the other wouldn't hook up, or required a bit more effort to connect.
You'll find what you need at the SF airport.
Found a pic - they are calling it Tug Stairs Trailer.
Scroll down a little, it's pretty obvious.
