Whats the best mobile phone out at the moment ? - PS3 Forums - PlayStation Universe
Just thought i'd see what type of mobile/cell phone people have.
And what people think is the best model out at the moment.
Im using a Sony W810i and its great however think i'd rather have the K800 as it's got a slightly better camera which i tend to use alot.
anyway what have you got/want ?

Ive also got the w810 and to be honest its the most amazing phone ive ever used, ive been on the k800 and the camera isnt that much better, theres to much hype about the camera because it has nothing else lol.
I love sony ericsson so much, you can do so many things with their handsets, i love how you can download off the internet and put straight onto your phone through usb.
This phone has completely replaced my psp as i was just usin it for multimedia really.
Oh yeah, ive just ordered silver housing for it =D cant wait to see it on.
Another good phone is the N series nokia, these are very good and have amazing cameras aswell as multimedia capabilities.
But im gonna stick with my w810.

Yeah SE have decent phones.
I still have the old K750i until my subscription ends about 6 months from now.
My next phone will probably be a slide phone, I'm thinking of Nokia or maybe a Samsung.
I'm still deciding.

DO NOT get the LG 5 megapixel camera phone, it was reviewed on the gadget show the other week against the N80 and the K800, and the N80 won in the camera section, aswell as overall.
The LG looks pathetic, for 5 megapixels the quality in video and images was poor.
Stick with your w810, or go to the w850 if your desperate for a new phone

I just got the new samsung slider.
Very nice phone. bluetooth.
Camerphone. etc. plus it slides!
Large screen to view as well.
Downside is the keys a a little slick, but that because they hide behind the top as it slides.
Side buttoms well placed for camera and all buttons are locked until you actually open the phone.

I've had a Treo 650 for a while, and have a friend that has a Sprint PPC 6700, which is also a neat little gadget.
The Treo is all fine and dandy, but uses the Palm OS, so it takes a second to get used to if you are switching from Windows Mobile.
It's a decent phone, as you can do darn near anything with it, but I'm looking to upgrade, as it certainly seems more business oriented rather than "awesome" oriented...
Such a lame camera on there (not even a megapix!).
However if you did go Sprint I would suggest the PPC-6700, or one of the new Treos that they have out there that run Windows M.
You'll be the bell of the ball.

Hmmm around 90 now i think, but you can get your hands on a brand new k750 for like 100 or less, then you can upgrade the firmware [put walkman on etc] and basicaly turn it into a w800, its all legal and wont break any warranty as its on the SE site itself.
You can then change the cover which is simple for around £20 but that will break waranty, my friend did this process and the outcome was nice.
If you need any guides on how to do it chack this forum...

I personally think that Razr's are overrated so i'll have to go with the motorola Q.
Its sleek design and streaming video make it the best phone on the market.

don't you mean motorolas are over rated period, got to be the worst make of phone ever.
I don't know anyone that hasnt had some forum of issue with a motorola phone.
Gonna see how much i can pick up a W800 or K750 hopefully get one cheapish.

I have the W850 ad its the best phone i have ever used...
the walkman has been greatly improved, and sounds better than my ipod, the camera quality is ace (2MP), the sliding is soooo smooth, and the screen size is ace...
The light does a cool little thing where it flashes to the music...
And it looks ace in white...
Not cheap though, looking at about £350, or you can get it on contract

The best mobile phones out right now are smart phones.
So anything mentioned before this that was a dumb phone is automatically disqualified as being the best.
The best phones are based on perspective and depend on someones wants and needs out of that device.
IMO a smart phones is a way to go becuase it like having a netbook or laptop with you at all times.
You can browse the net, download apps to make you experiance better or add to the phones functionality, you can send/recieve email most times these phones have push email, and also double as MP3 players with video capability and have mediocre cameras my top 4 in no particular order are
HTC Hero
Iphone
Palm Pre
Storm

The Nokia 5800 is a bloody awesome phone.
But looking at getting the SE W995 in the next few weeks and then at the end of the year I will pick up the Sony Idou.

I've got the LG Neon.
First phone I've actually bothered to pay for texting.
The keyboard is reliable and I've dropped the phone on pavement several times.
It's only 30 bucks with the rebate AT&T also has "the best coverage."

But i stupidly updated to 3.0 firmware and regret it.

I recently got the Samsung Tocco Ultra, really like i so far, but to be honest i cant really do much with it.
Comes with only demo games so itll cost ya to get games but the widgets can be a bit fun and the cameras really good.

I would have to agree with you guys that at the moment the HTC Hero is the cream of the crop weather apple fan boys would like to realize it or not.

Don't get me wrong here I agree that the Hero is the better device.
But I think the iPhone's processor deserves a bit more respect.
Since it is better than what is offered in the Hero.
Not to mention that the iPhone has an integrated graphics system and is capable of using open GL or something of that sort.
Basically I do agree that the Hero (BARELY) is the better device but it's because Apple has such a locked system overall.
If the iPhone had an open environment App Wise it would easily take the Hero's lunch.

Not to mention the Hero has flash so there will no longer be the need to pay to play
no more app store raping someone for a game when you can just access all the flash online content out and play thousands of games online..
Thats why the iphone wont have flash because it will cripple the app store...
People will no longer spend there hard earned money on paying for movies and episodes they can watch any flash videos online and will minimize apples profits ...
And games will no longer sell as they used to...
So the fact that the Hero has flash makes android all the more tasty...
But all in all I also like the iphone alot..
Just not more than the Hero
