Hot Air balloon records a lot of hot air? - Tilted Mill Community

I spent some time watching the card for the Hot Air Balloon ride. Frequently during the day, a count appeared in the visitor space.

After a time the count disappeared. At the end of the day, the total visitors count for the day was zero. I assume that this is a case of look but don't buy.

But day after day?

Not sure, but it could be people trying to get to it but can't for some reason. Is it easily accessable? Maybe a bus or subway next to it?

I placed several Baroque Fountains near the venue and then it began to show visits.

I hate to do this because it may now attract worker Sims from a long distance away and cause them to attempt to reach it.

Maybe it is the same I noticed when I changed the opening times around - I have a huge mall next to some skyscrapers and a lot people leave the office around 19:00.

But I had changed the closing time of all day venues to 20:00 - so the visitor count would spike up briefly to 20, but then drop again as it became clear that many were not going to get there in time (only between 5 or 10 did).

The counter shows how many people are there AND on their way there.

I may have solved my problem with keeping the worker Sims away from the tourist venues, regardless of how attractive the venues are made to be. In another thread, I mentioned the question of whether a traveler may visit a venue that is affiliated with a resort the traveler is not staying at.

At the moment, I think the answer is yes.

All travelers may visit all traveler venues whether they are affiliated to a resort or not.

However, worker Sims may visit traveler venues only if they are not affiliated with a resort. Now, using a resort just to keep worker Sims away from a venue is a bit of overkill, if that is the only reason for adding the resort to the city.

But - if a simple building (like a tent) can be made to act like a resort and all the traveler venues associated with that building, then all travelers may visit the affiliated (ie traveler) venues but none of the worker Sims. So, I modified the xml file for Tent A, disguising it as a resort.

Then I affiliated all the traveler venues with it. At first glance, it looks like that may have done it.

I don't see any worker Sims showing up at traveler venues.

I need a more solid way of verifying that this is true for all worker Sims and am working on that.
