What's your mobile phone/pda? - Basenotes Community

I just got a new one - a Nokia E71, and I'm loving it.

I can't synch it up with my work email due to our draconian security policy, but otherwise, it works great.

IPhone 2G and loving it

My Palm Centro does everything I need it to, except for 3G. The Palm OS is dated, sure, but that's not to say it is incapable of doing anything useful.

I have 3 email accounts pushed to the phone, can use Google Maps, Opera Mini, play NES/SNES/Genesis, etc etc I am looking forward to the Pre, though.

I don't own one. I got rid of it and life has been a lot better.

Blackberry Curve.

Used to have a Palm Treo 650 in the past.

Probably would've stayed w/ Palm if they hadn't taken so long to update their OS.

I have a nokia. You know, I think it is a pretty darn good cell phone to make phone calls.

I also like the fact that if I ever get assaulted by someone in the street, I can use it as weapon for personal defense.

With a phone like that, who nees brass knucles?

IPhone 3G. (How did the world ever get by without these?!) The thing does everything.

And in case you need it to do something else , you can go to the App store and find a program to do whatever you want! If I could go back in time and live in the early 80's, but still have this device, I'd be in an utter utopia. ...then again, it'd be pretty slick to be sporting one of these bad boys - ...but it's crazy to think that as large as they are, all they can do is make a phone call!

(with my iPhone, I can use Google Earth to look at continually-updating satellite photos of any place on earth, use the YouTube app to watch a video of anything , use Shazam to identify just about any piece of music that is playing wherever I happen to be, or play air hockey with the touch screen [the computer beats me half the time!]) I just love the fact that all this change has happened in MY short lifetime.

People, we are going to see some things in our time that are going to blow our minds~

Palm Treo Pro. Former Palm Centro, Treo 650 and 600 owner. Waiting for the Palm Pre

IPhone 3G. Really is the best at everything, except at being a phone.

Partly because of AT&T suck-tastic coverage and partly because of Apple: how in a state with a hands-free law do they not have the voice dialing that I had on my last two Motorolas?

Oh well, supposedly that will be taken care of with the update this summer.

As for the coverage issue, who knows?

Yeah, I've got a few bug complaints as well.

Sometimes, I'll choose not to answer a call I see coming in.

And then, FIVE HOURS later, the voicemail they left is finally delivered to my phone.

This has happened a few times, along with the problem of dialing a number, only to have my phone sit there in silence, as though it were trying to find a line to connect to - no ringing, no dialing, nothing.

So yes, I agree, they need to work a little bit on the "phone" part of the iPhone!

I have EXCACTLY the same problems.

I've had friends leave VM's and they show up days later, and the same thing dialing.

Luckily, my friends all have the same problem so they don't think I'm dissing them. Don't let me get started on MobileMe...

Samsung Gravity Nothing fancy, free, but has a QWERTY slider and micro SD slot so i can use it as a USB flash drive and load up with mp3's.

Electrical engineering major so I'm supposed to be a nerd, but I absolutely despise mobile phones and gadgets.

I don't get it with the iPhone, the Omnia, the W9xx series, and all the smartphones I own a Sony K750i, and even though it's quite small, it's starting to be a pain because I only want my mobile to do 3 things and 3 things only: 1.

Make calls. 2. Save contacts.

3. Be super slim and light so I don't feel it in my pocket. Current: Looking to replace it with this one.

It's feature packed (that's a bad thing) but it's the slimmest one I could find:

I own and use the Samsung G600: I think it looks better than it's pictured.

It's no iPhone, but it does what I expect a phone to and acts as a handy camera for taking decent quality pictures on the go (above average compared to many phones).

It's weighted perfectly and I've received a number of compliments on its looks!

Pretty affordable too!

Sony Ericsson C902

I have a Sidekick LX.

No, it doesn't have a lot of bells & whistles & the applications store is pretty minimal, but the Danger OS is AM ZING.

It's great for a multitasker like me.

I can be on a walk listening to the music player, jump over to send a text, take a video of some cute ducks, surf the net, & send an email all in a matter of seconds & w/o having to close each application when I jump to the other.

And the LX09 will have 3G, GPS, streaming media, built in applications for a handful of social networks, & a lot of other new stuff.

Yeah...I'm a bit of a Sidekick fangirl .

Soon, this will be mine: http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=2134

Samsung's SCH-U410 for me.

I traded in a basic Samsung with absolutely no bells and whistles I had used for the previous 5 years for this one at a reasonable $3 and change charge.

Costco supplied it via one of the Verizon Kiosks set up inside their warehouse (free vehicle recharger in addition to the packaged home recharger a Costco perk) It is chuck full of things to get you to spend extra money using: internet ready, Bluetooth ready etc.

TMP00: pick up the free app "Say who" from apple store.

It allows for voice dialing and it also allows you to recite the address or intersection of your destination for programing into google maps.

Very handy thing to have when you are driving. More good news Iphone 3.0 is due to be released fairly soon and it will have Cut-and-paste features. WE're finally getting a computing functiong that came out somewhere in the early 80's YaY!

Asus P552 is my phone, but battery life stinks (though i will try to get another to see if it's just that battery), and I still have my PDA, though I don't really need it anymore, but there are some things on it that I wouldn't want to lose - Palm TX

Simple but effective as a phone and a weather station(MY Cast app): That's a Moto W385. My next phone may be a BB Storm.

AT&T 8525 Smart Phone , running Windows Mobile 6.

It gets the job done, and I have decent Internet access.

I bought it back when the iPhone truly sucked because it wasn't running on AT&T's 3G network.

If I were buying a new phone today, I'd probably go with the iPhone 3G .

I have an annoying habit of hanging on to old technology cell phones for years .

I had a Nokia 5190 for almost 9 years, only giving up on it when AT&T sent me a letter telling me they were disabling the phone.

Samsung BlackJack 2.

QWERTY keyboard but the keys as so small.

Miss the keyboard on my Nokia 6800.

Haven't used the internet part just can't justify the extra $30 a month.

Sony Ericsson w580i: Email, basic web, camera, mp3-player, and last but not least: step counter.

I don't want/need anything smarter at the moment.
