Fertility Post Pregnancy - American Pregnancy Association
I happened to be on Yahoo Answers today and someone asked if the plan B pill would work as well for her since she just had a baby 3 months ago, and knows "you are super fertile right after having a baby" What?
I have never heard that before...
I mean, you either ovulate, or you dont.
Nothing about just having a baby makes you ovulate more often does it I mean, really...
Can anyone explain the "logic" behind that?

You are more fertile right after your have a baby or a miscarriage.
I think it has to deal with horomones afterwards.
Just because you ovulate, doesn't mean you'll get pregnant.
The sperm must penetrate the egg and the egg has a hard, outter shell.
I believe once you have a baby or miscarriage, the outter shell isn't as hard to penetrate and you can become pregnant with a lot more ease than any other month.

I definitely ovulated more often (twice in one cycle) when I was recently post-partum.
Maybe something about not ovulating for a while makes all the eggs eager to get going.
