Closing IE on WM6 - PPczone.net forums

On a Windows Mobile 6 device when closing Internet Explorer by clicking on the cross in the top right of the screen, when next going back in to IE it seems to be at the last page. Apart from going in to the running applications section and ending the application.

Is there another way of closing IE on the mobile device?

Download and install Magic Button on your device.

It replaces the x button and really closes the application.

It's free. www.trancreative.com/mb.aspx -- Linley Meslier Microsoft MVP - Mobile Devices Http://PocketpcMauritius.blogspot.com Quote: : >

Www.trancreative.com/mb.aspx > You can also buy multi-IE ($15 IIRC) and it includes an extra close button that kills the window (and if it is the only window, kills the app). www.southwaycorp.net/multiie.htm -- Crippled but free I was blind all the time I was learning to see.

Go to Start, Settings, System, X-Button.

Select "Enable the "X" button to end running programs" You have the choice of ending programs by either tapping the X, or by tapping and holding the X. At least that's the way my Cingular 8525 running WM6 works. Bob "Robin9876" <robin9876@hotmail.com>

In addition to the other suggestions, take a look at Pocket Plus from Spb. It turns the X into a real close button and has several other features. http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/pocketplus/?en . Regards, -- Clinton Fitch, MVP-Mobile Devices Clinton Fitch (Dot) Com!

Seems your device has a task manager installed. Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices]

Finally, you can always tap <Ctrl-Q>

On the soft keyboard with no task manager installed to close most apps which don't have a menu "exit" option. Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices]

I didn't realize this was an HTC program until I noticed and checked the associated "About" tab. It's a nice feature.

Too bad it doesn't come standard with WM.
