I want one but I'd be afraid I'd lose it and someone else can go showing off all over town I'll take my bulky wallet or my clutch over that.

Could work when I'm heading to the gym and dont wanna tek a wallet, etc.
But then again, i oly have AMEX credit cards, so none for me...

As far as im concerned, i could see this being useful for hitting the gym, park, etc, but other than that, nada.

I already have a gold card from amex, but I called them up and the rep said she had no idea what card I was talking about..

Just got it today.
Very neat. I got lots of attention the first time I used it.
The metal case is slightly heavy, but makes a nice key chain.
The card itself can be left in the case or pulled out.
It has two slots on the back bottom corners.
These slots lock the card into the case.
The card itself is a brighter gold and has black embossed writing on the front.
The back has a shiny silver magnetic strip that says "world of service" (like the platinum card).
I compare this to my current gold card, which has silver embossed writing and a plain gold magnetic strip.
The card does fold.
I don't know how well this will last, but I am giving it a try.
When it is not folded the card appears to be a normal AMEX card, except the slight crease and slots on the back.
I find the case hard to open at time.
However, it is brand-new and I am sure it will wear in.
When you do open the case the card automatically unfolds.
The card has a different number on it, but is tracked under your main card / account.
Any purchases on the butterfly are categorized under a separate portion of your statement.
My only gripe is that the metal case gets scratched very easily.
I have had it on my key chain for less than 12 hours and it already has visible scratches and marks on it.
Not a big deal, but I was hoping the case was more durable than this.
It can be easily detached with a small c-clip.
It looks awesome and I almost want to leave it off my key chain to prevent damage to the metal case.
However, that would defeat the purpose.
It beats the mini-credit cards you see from Discover and BOA because the butterfly can be removed from the case to be a full-sized traditional card for all your swiping needs.
Many mini-cards can only be swiped in certain readers.

how long have u been a gold card holder, i've had it for about 6 months, so i'm wondering if I got the offer as well...I've been away from my apt for a week so I dont know if the offer came in the mail or not...did u get an offer for it in the mail?
i wonder if I can call them and ask them for it.

I have been a Gold Card member for 1 year and 6 months.
I got a little flyer in the mail that told me I have been invited to receieved a complimentary butterfly card.
I read that only new gold card members can get it.
However, you are a newer member than me.
I think that they send them out base on how much you use the card.
My Gold AMEX is my primary payment method.
I use it for every purchase big and small.
My monthly statement is as thick as a telephone book.
Do you use your card alot?

I haven't recieved the invite so far, thinking about calling them up though..
I make 95 percent of my purchases using my gold card, and usually rack up about 3000-3500 dollars per month on my gold card...I'm assuming that's a pretty good amount, but i dont know ...what do u think?

I think you should call and ask them for one.
You pay $90 per year.
You deserve one. : )
I think 3,000 - 3,500 is plenty.
I charge less than that on average.

I was worried about the lose my keys thing too.
However, it would be alot worst to lose all my keys, that cost 100's to replace over a plastic AMEX card.
Also, this thing gets more attention than I ever expected.
Everywhere I use it, I get attention!

That's a sleek little number.
I would be a bit worried carrying it around though.
I had a friend who had an BOA keychain card and when he left his keys at starbucks, some mallrat stole it and made a bunch of charges which were difficult for him to have removed.
Otherwise, you'll be extra spiffy with that thing.
