Hilton and 'Simple Life' at Caliente Nudist Resort - Nudist-Resorts.Org - Naturist Discussion Forum / Bulletin Board - Nudism Naturism Clothing Optional Nude Beaches Cruises Florida California Family Nudist Resort Colony Cruise Beach Travel Club

'Simple' may bring exposure to Pasco
By KELLY VIRELLA and JAMES THORNER
And here's where the plot gets complicated: The Simple Life 2 co-stars apparently plan to visit a nudist resort.
WEEKI WACHEE - A metallic pink pickup truck carting around Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie showed up in the parking lot of Weeki Wachee Springs Thursday afternoon, and could be headed to Pasco County this weekend.
In Pasco, the stars of the reality television show Simple Life 2 are expected to be hanging around a lot of naked people, though it's not certain they'll be doffing their own dresses.
The gist of the fish-out-of-water show is to take two spoiled Hollywood rich girls and stick them among average folk.
Hilarity is supposed to ensue.
Hilton, an heir to the Hilton hotel fortune, made a dubious name for herself with the release last year of a sex videotape made with an ex-boyfriend.
Richie is the daughter of R&B singer Lionel Richie.
Producers have sent the pair on what's supposed to be 30-day road trip across the U.S.
In a pink pickup truck.
Fresh off a shoot at Hernando County's Weeki Wachee Springs, the women apparently aim to slip through the walled compound of Caliente nudist resort on U.S.
41 in Land O'Lakes.
The resort officially takes a "no comment" attitude.
No surprise there.
Bunim/Murray Productions approached all three major bare resorts in Land O'Lakes and demanded confidentiality agreements from each.
Lake Como and Paradise Lakes both declined after giving the deal careful consideration.
"They weren't going to let me notify my incoming guests.
But my people don't necessarily want to be filmed," Paradise owner Joe Lettelleir said.
Como rejected the idea after producers requested the resort let Hilton and Richie coach opposing teams in a nude touch football game.
Caliente's was the only non-denial.
Reached Friday, Caliente marketing director Catherine Walton said, "I can't say anything about it," before confiding, "Call back Sunday."
Resort Vice President Chuck Foster said the resort was open to the show provided the girls didn't do anything "too cutesy."

I was already planning on watching before you posted this but for a different reason.
They held family casting calls in the South Louisiana area for a rural Cajun family.
Many showed up and many more didn't knowing the trouble these girls are and the fear that they would once again show Cajuns in an insulting way like they've done in many movies.
Still think an Oprah special on nudist would be better than stuff like this.

I agree with you sailordave.
The movie industry does not have our best interests at heart.
The movie industry is all about making money.
They do not care about how they portray nudists or whether they show cajuns in a demeaning manner.

I was at Lake Como a little over a week ago, and heard on a Tampa radio show that Paris and Nicole were staying with a family in the area.
They had the name and were trying to make contact.
It would have been pretty neat to see them.
I'm a fan of the show, it's entertaining in it's own way.
I'm sure, though, they will mistreat naturism is some way.
But the show will still be funny.
Nudists are often the target of jokes, so this should be no different.
Looking forward to see what they do.
BTW, I enjoyed 2 days at Lake Como, they had the volleyball superbowl going on.

I worry about a possible backlash like the one that resulted from what I understand was a positive report on nude youth camps in the New York Times, if my memory is correct.
The legislation seeking to restrict or prohibit those camps in several states, including my own state of Virginia, can be traced directly back to that article.
I'm afraid a similar backlash could occur as a result of Paris and Nicole's show, especially since I can't imagine they wouldn't film themselves at a nudist resort except to titillate the audience.
Getting the positive message of nudism out to the public is a worthy goal, and the NYT article certainly tried to do just that, from what I understand.
So a backlash is a potential pitfall under the best of circumstances, but that's the chance we must take.
I just don't think we should take our chances with Paris and Nicole.

See Paris, see nudists - and stay tuned
By JAMES THORNER, Times Staff Writer
The Simple Life takes its cast to a nudist resort, where residents bare all, but button their lips.
LAND O'LAKES - After breakfasting with friends Wednesday morning, John Mitchell strolled into his condominium, greeted his wife and experienced what many men only dream about: Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie showering in his bathroom.
Nudity isn't exactly naughty where Mitchell lives - Pasco County's Caliente nudist resort - but even Mitchell was surprised he was sharing his soap with a pair of Hollywood celebutantes.
And surprise turned to shock when the pair bounced into his kitchen wrapped in towels and teased the 69-year-old Navy veteran.
"They said, "How come you're still dressed?' " said Mitchell, who was Pasco County's Veteran of the Year in 2000.
By the time Mitchell had shucked his clothes, the damp-haired duo were saying their goodbyes and departing with two cameramen who had been filming them.
They had a job to do at Caliente, supposedly serving as French maids to the resort's mostly naked clientele.
Such are the demands of reality television, circa 2004.
The Tampa Bay area has been in a tizzy as Hilton and Richie film the second season of their show The Simple Life.
Hilton, an heir to the hotel fortune, and Richie, daughter of singer Lionel, are traveling the country, from Miami to Beverly Hills, in a pink pickup truck.
Stripped of their cash and credit cards, the pair are supposed to take odd jobs in small towns along the way.
Episodes should air in the fall.
Filming last week at Weeki Wachee Springs and a ranch in Hernando County was disrupted when Hilton was pitched from a horse.
TV crews descended on St.
Joseph's Hospital in Tampa to learn she had survived mostly unscathed.
Caliente, chock-full of nudists enjoying the warm spring weather, continued the show's fish-out-of-water premise.
On Wednesday, resort co-owner Tom Landers went through the motions of interviewing Hilton and Richie for jobs.
They were hired, and changed into French maid uniforms.
Because the outfits appeared too long, someone snipped away material so the ladies could show more thigh.
With two cameramen and a boom-mike operator in tow, they blended into the buff crowd.
The night before, the pair partied in the resort's nightclub till the wee hours and arrived at Mitchell's condo looking disheveled and tired.
Adrienne Mitchell, John Mitchell's wife, was home alone when a knock came at the door.
"I thought it was a neighbor," Adrienne Mitchell said.
"Nicole said, "We're down on our luck, and we need a place to shower.' "
After John Mitchell arrived, the pair emerged in their towels, asked for water and admired the couple's pet birds.
After Mitchell removed his clothes, camera crews filmed the retired sailor, with an American flag as backdrop.
The Mitchells learned extraordinary wealth doesn't always translate into extraordinary manners.
Hilton and Richie left a sizable puddle on the bathroom floor.
In the wastebasket lay a silver necklace, with plastic pieces spelling "Punk Rock." The clasp had broken, but John Mitchell vowed to fix it.
Hilton and Richie were expected to spend the night at Caliente before resuming their road trip.
After signing confidentiality agreements with the show's producers, Caliente staff wouldn't talk to reporters.
Mitchell was warned after talking with the St.
Petersburg Times that the document he had signed included a nondisclosure clause.
He had assumed the form merely gave his consent to be filmed.
Nevertheless, the couple's brush with celebrity left their building abuzz.
"My neighbor said I should be honored they left the p
