Bluetooth problem - Sharky Forums
Have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse [logitech mx5000] which of course uses a bluetooth dongle, but I don't seem to be able to connect any other device thru this dongle , when trying to turn discovery on in bluetooth setting get error message [unable to save discoverability/connection settings].
However if I plug in a second independant bluetooth dongle everything works fine all other devices are seen and can be connected [though no set up is required]?

Not all Bluetooth NICs and drivers have the same capabilities.
There are various classes of devices that a driver may or may not be able to pair with.
What you are experiencing is normal behavior.

But I have the same set up on my work pc and all works flawlessly, and it all worked on my previous pc.Not a failure to pair , no other device are detected.

Were the Bluetooth devices that worked exactly the same models with exactly the same software and exactly the same operating system as the setup that does not work?

Yes, could also 'see' the many mobile phones in the office around me, but only with additional bluetooth dongle attached.
The problem seem to be the pc does not recognise the bluetooth dongle for the logitech keyboard and mouse when it come to connecting anything other than the keyboard and mouse.
But with second independant bluetooth dongle everything is fine.

As I stated in my first post, each Bluetooth device can have different capabilities.
Some will pair with several other devices concurrently and some are restricted to a single pairing.
It is not the PC.
It is the dongle's driver and hardware capabilities.
Try using your non-Logitech Bluetooth dongle to pair with your mouse, keyboard, ...
Concurrently. It will probably work.
