Revo is heavier, more sluggish, doesn't glide quite as well.
It's wireless (usually not ideal for gaming).
Makes a great mouse for applications and work purposes though.

I bought mine back in February for $129.00 at newegg and it is a buy I do not regret at all.
Very tempting to pick up another one since the price is so low.

I own both the G9x and the MX Revolution, besides the MX's smartshift, the G9x is better.
You will never use the side wheel on the MX since you can't even reach it, and watch out for the dreaded red blink of death charging issue.

The wave keyboard is nice.
I use it at work.
I have the wired version though.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't work for me and gaming.
That is because unlike most people, I shy away from using the WASD keys and instead use the Arrow keys area for games (FPS games at least).
The Wave keyboard has a non-standard arrow keys layout.
Otherwise a really great keyboard.

Even the G5 is better than the MX518...
So yes, the G9 is definitely better.
But the differences are relatively minor so it wouldn't make sense to upgrade if your current mouse is working fine.
If I HAD to upgrade, I would go with a G500 though.
