Trying to beat Coupon Mom at her own game, and how I saved nearly 70% buying food. : food

Do you like food?

I do. Cooking, restaurants, recipes, food network, foodies, talk about it here

Now you have to eat all that crap.

I have no problem spending extra $$$ for quality food.

I would rather cut my spending on stuff like gas, cigarettes, etc... all that junk food can only lead to more doctor bills.

I think you accidentally all of the numbers.

Meh. I've been working at it for years.

I do better. I usually see somewhere between 50% - 70% savings but the thing is, I don't buy crap "food." Those are the numbers I see when I'm leaving the store with meat, dairy, breads, veggies.

Canned soup is about as far as I go in buying "prepared foods." Don't buy much of it either, preferring to make my own.

I plan my meals around what meats and veggies are on sale. We eat very, very well on $50 / person / week.
