GLC Boards - View topic - SD: Do you like the Olivia vs. Ava storyline?

Ava storyline?

I'm not exactly a big fan of Olivia, but I think this storyline will allow Chrystal Chappel to stretch her wings and take the character to new heights as a villain.
According to an e-mail I received from Michelle Ray Smith who plays Ava, Michelle really enjoys playing these scenes between Olivia and Ava.

I'm not sure yet, but, by reading the spoilers, it sounds as if they are rushing through the storyline awfully fast.
I guess I'll wait and see how it plays out.

I am not to sure either.
I wish I could understand why Olivia wants to kill Ava so much.There just seems to be more of a reason than what happened to Emma.
Olivia is just so desperate to get ride of Ava, and besides what happened to Emma I just don't get it.

This whole Olivia/Ava storyline started out wierd.
If I'm remembering correctly didn't Ava used to work for Olivia at some point in time?
I mean as far as I remember from the point Ava came onto the show Olivia has hated her and it doesn't make sense.
I think this is one of those storylines where TPTB are winging it.
I understand Olivia's animosity towards Ava because of the Emma accident.
I'm a mom and I can sympathize with Olivia's feelings, but that doesn't make sense as to why she has hated her all this while.
Now from the spoilers I've read (stop reading here if you don't want to be spoiled....)
Ava turns out to be Olivia's daughter.
This storyline has great potential if written correctly.
Crystal Chappell is such an amazing actress and I know she can do wonders with Olivia's newly found past.
Olivia is one of those characters that when she comes on the screen you are instantly drawn to her to see what kind of hijinks she'll be doing today.
I know with the right material an Emmy nomination could be in the works for Crystal with this storyline.

I thought that Ava would be revealed as Olivia's daughter the minute she walked into Springfield.
The eerie resemblance that Crystal Chappell and Michelle Ray Smith share is too obvious not to exploit it.
It would make more sense since I could not figure out the reason for Ava's existence.

I suppose I don't have a problem with the Ava-as-Olivia's missing daughter per se ..
I just have a problem with how it's now happening.
To see Olivia going over the edge like this, while beautifully acted by CC, feels a bit out of left field.
It is just too eerily similar to the downfall of both Phillip and Edmund.
The whole "I woke up this morning and now I'm crazy-evil!" thing doesn't quite jive.

Olivia has always had a bit of evil in her...remember the changing the drinks routine with Billy?
I think this storyline is pretty good and I like that it's moving fast consider I am so tired of the slow-moving cancer/Reva storyline.
I hope they rap this one up within a week.
I'd like to see Olivia's reaction when she finds out that Ava is her daughter and I bet she will be racing home to stop the hitman from killing Ava.
It should be interesting and I am sure will have some good episodes.

I have been a huge Crystal Chappell fan ever since her days on DOOL as Carly Manning...in fact I started watching GL b/c of her.
So yes, I'm a fan of any SL w/ Crystal front and center.
However, I have felt this Ava SL has been a bit rushed and there have been a lot of details missing, which hopefully will be filled in later.
I have to admit it's kept me on the edge of my seat, so yes, I guess basically I like it.
I just love Olivia!!!

Yes the story is entertaining since much of the other stuff going on is boring and overdone..i.e.
Cassie/Josh/Reva/Billy & Marina/Mallet.
I am enjoying Ava and Olivia, however, will we find out who the father is?
I say bring Edmund back and make him the Daddy.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!
And it actually looks like Ava takes after her mom a little more each day.
The two have definately met their match.
I'm not quite sure where this is all gonna go with the "trial" and all but its better than watching Reva say goodbye for the umpteenth time this month.
