Flickr: The Help Forum: WARNING! Flickr will delete your photos!
Flickr just deleted all of my photos even though:
1) They were not XXX rated
2) They were not in violation of copyrights
3) All were set to private
Store your photos elsewhere.
Flickr will delete your photos for the heck of it.

Yes, if you read the Community Guidelines, you will see that Flickr can delete your account for any violations of its rules.
Flickr is a private company (just like all those other photostorage sites).
You agree to follow the rules when you first create an account.
Even if your pictures are set to private, they must be correctly flagged as safe, moderate, and restricted.
From your username, I suspect you had images of women, taken without their consent, and posted in a photostream that was full of similar images.
That kind of voyeur collection is not allowed on Flickr.

For those tempted to have sympathy for the OP, take a look at the one image in his new troll account - clearly, the idiot doesn't learn...

1) No one has ever been deleted for posting XXX material on Flickr when, A.
It is their own material, and B.
It has proper Safety Level settings.
2) Just because you found it on the web does not mean you can post in on Flickr.
Please read the Terms of Service.
Also as Colleen states, if you are taking secret photos of women you will be deleted as well.
3) Private V.S.
Public has nothing to do with deletions.
Safety Levels are the only concern Flickr has with regards to child friendly content and adult content.
4) Never, ever, ever, use any internet service as the sole means of storing your files.
Always back up on disks, remote hardrives, ot other seconday means.
I always have two backups of my important files stored in separate locations.

In addition to what Burnt Umber said in the last paragraph, CDs, DVDs that I now use, and even thumb drives are also other great backups.
Flickr does NOT delete photos if they are safe and if you took them originally.
The photo that is in the original poster's photostream clearly is definitely set to the right safety level that forces those with Safe Search turned on to click on an extra button.
Oh, and I have blocked the original poster.
Also, even though I prefer not to use this option at all, you can easily use photo editing software to add a copyright watermark, which is like saying "these photos belong to me, and you cannot use them anywhere."

Chrisser wrote Flickr does NOT delete photos if they are safe and if you took them originally.
... unless they violate some other guidelines.
And that's what it comes down to, in the end.
Not everything is permitted on the site.

Yeah, flickr has a real bias against voyeurism and fetishes.
If your stream is "street shots" of various anatomical parts, you'll be history.

I wouldn't call that a "bias" so much as a "preference".

C.
And it's not prohibited content.
There are still some things that they don't allow, regardless of whether it's flagged properly and is a person's own stuff.
