Flickr: The Help Forum: Flickr pictures found on other websites.
I did a google search for my flickr website name just to see what came up, and found that some of my and many other flickr member's pictures are showing up on a Japanese website.
photo.taggy.jp/detail//208264718
Since the page is written mostly in Japanese, I'm not sure what the site is all about.
But I don't like the fact that mine and other peoples photos are being used without permission.
Does anyone else find this troubling?
And is there anything that Flickr or anyone can do about it?

It looks like the site links back to Flickr.
I think that this action is OK.

It's basically just a search engine, not dissimilar to Google.
The page you opened is basically displaying the search result from Google.
It would otherwise not be displaying your image.
There are many sites that have search functions for public Flickr images.
If you don't want your Flickr images to be found in these search sites, you'd have to basically make them private, or keep them off of the internet.

For your last question, generally flickr can do nothing about other sites that display flickr photos if the other site is not displaying them from flickr's servers.
Flickr has APIs that allow photos to be pulled from flickr and shown on other sites, and if the use complies with flickr's terms, it's okay.
Your photo is not licensed at this time (was it before?), so I don't think the photo should be pulled if you have opted out of API.
If the use in the Japanese site is under the API and is in violation of the terms, then flickr can do something about it.
If The Searcher is right and it's coming from Google, it's out of Flickr's hands.
The use of the image in the bottom of the page is interesting, though.
