I have a memorex 6142u w/ no vista drivers??? - FixYa

Please tell me how to down load drivers for vista for a memorex 6142u scanner

This solution worked for me.

I have 64-bit version of Vista.

If you have 64-bit version of Vista this is the only thing that I have found to work. What I did was used a different scanners driver for my Memorex 6142u.

I used the Hamrick version of the Canon N1220U scanner driver.

The best way to do this is to plug the USB cord into the computer.

Vista will try and find the driver for you and fail.

Then go to device manager.

It will say that it isn't working properly.

Then fix the driver by selecting from the list of drivers that Vista has packaged with it.

I'm running a 6142 on Vista using the Memorex driver.

I didn't think about it when I got Vista, I loaded it up and everything works fine.

I've been using it for sometime with no problems.

I installed it using the Memorex CD and have had no problems.
