Cargo Shorts: What to carry in them? - The DIS Discussion Forums - DISboards.com
I am leaning away from the bag thing and plan on getting cargo shorts to avoid security waits and lugging anything around.
I have no kids, will be just me and DW.
What do you/should I carry in da shorts?
Thanks!

Ponchos (the itty bitty disposable ones), if you plan on being there in summer, sunblock, camera (in baggy), chapstick (maybe that's just me!), money clip (less bulky than wallet)...good luck packing light!

I wear cargo shorts, but I also end up carrying a drawstring backpack for things like ponchos.
I don't like all that weight pulling down on my belt...

I dunno Cargo Shorts, You could damage a camera, but so could a Backpack too.
I dont think My Hubby would want to stuff those pockets full of stuff.
Backpack seems more logical..

Charging room key
Chapstick
camera
cell phone
Driver's license
That's all I carried into the parks in my cargo bermudas (I'm a girl) and I was perfectly comfortable all day.
I buttoned my room key and license into the bottom pocket, and DH or I stuffed camera in either of our pockets.
Cell phone was itsy teensy cheap pay-as-you-go spare one we keep a few minutes on (works out on the deer lease and our regular phones do not).
Comfy and easy.
ETA: I forgot: I also had my photopass card.

When I'm not carrying a bag:
Chapstick
camera in pocket without case or on belt inside case
small zip top wallet with credit card and license
Kleenex
KTTW in lanyard pouch around neck
I slather on a heavy duty sunblock in the mornings and wear a hat to the parks.

It's easy and you'll love it.
I carried - ponchos for 3 (DH carried his own), chapstick, a mini m&m roll with quarter and pennies for the penny machines, cell phone, extra battery and SD card for my camera, a travel size package of advil enough for 4, travel size sunscreen and digital camera.
I've got a mini tripod I sometimes put in a pocket too.
I also have a passporter pouch around my neck with my DL, AP's, TIW card, insurance card, cash and KTWW.
I also put moleskin in it and a couple of band aids.
My issue is DD9 needs her autograph book so I've had to carry a small purse now since it won't fit in my pockets.

Wow!That's an impressive array of stuff!
I am looking to travel light this summer and hope to have the kids carry their own bags.
I'm not beyond strapping a fanny pack on them!

Until I had a kid, I NEVER carried a purse or bag at Disney.
Back then:
KTTW card
license
cash
SPF 15+ chapstick
hair elastic
cell phone
camera
water bottle attached to a lanyard (I like the Epcot one the best)
Use a good sport sunscreen like Coppertone Sport before you head into the parks.
Unless you're prone to burn - then I'd bring a travel-size tube of sunscreen too.
Make sure you load your KTTW card with your credit card info - that way you never have to carry any other card.
And make sure you take a picture of your KTTW card in case it gets lost/stolen!
If we had to deal with cool temps at night, we'd bring a backpack of warmer clothes, stash it in a locker all day, and grab it after dinner.
And use the TV in your room to check the weather before you stuff your pockets full of ponchos!
