uxrip360-0.4a completed

Hello everyone, I'm trying to continue development of uxrip360(linux app to rip 360 discs) to include support for the new iXtreme1.6 drives that support 0800mode.

I am unable to find anyone knowledgeable on the subject of cdb commands to lock/unlock, show the real data on the discs, show the SS/PFI/DMI on the drives in #FW and c4eva does not respond on irc.

I'm wondering if anyone here knows what I'm looking for and if they are willing to help me. Thanks for your time EDIT: Scroll down for download links

Hmm let's see, the command for extracting SS are AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 01 C0 AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 03 C0 AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 05 C0 AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 07 C0 The command for unlocking the drive to make game data visible is: FF 08 01 01 That's all I can remember, and these codes may be outdated.

I'll keep you updated You can also extact PFI and DMI from DVDinfoPro, but i'll look for the cdb commands

Thanks .ISO I'll try the commands and get back to you. EDIT: Right now I'm getting hangs on GRUB loading when the drive is in 0800 mode.

I'll try again in the morning. EDIT2: OK I modified the program to recognize the drive, but I'm having trouble trying to get the drive to read the PFI/DMI info here are the newly released commands for the ixtreme 0800mode drives: AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 00 C0 - SS/CPRMAI AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 ID C0 - SS Challenge ID 12 00 00 00 30 C0 00 00 00 49 58 01 - ix Cmd 1 - Dumps key and rev 0x30 bytes 12 00 00 00 24 C0 00 xx xx 49 58 02 - ix Cmd 2 - Output 0x800 bytes from ram address 12 00 00 00 24 C0 00 00 00 49 58 03 - ix Cmd 3 - Toggles Lock/UnLock Game partition Is there another command that is still in secrecy?

Sorry for double post, but I think that the output 0x800 bytes from Ram address, can get me the PFI and DMI, but I don't know which address they are at. 12 00 00 00 24 C0 00 xx xx 49 58 02

Just read the atapi spec for PFI and DMI commands. "READ DVD STRUCTURE" for both...

Ok I just managed to get crude support in uxrip360 for the LiteOn drive.

I can rip an original disc, but the SS.bin is wacked so anything it rips needs to run through abgx360.

I cannot rip a rip yet. Will report back when I get the cod eright.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

He's trying to create a ripping program

I am releasing the updated version of uxrip360, a linux-based 360 game dumper. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F9ALXK4Y I have worked out most of the bugs making this program rip wave3 discs, and read from 0800-mode drives correctly.

Unfortunately I have no clue on how to get libHAL to get the capabilities right, and the 'rip-a-rip' feature now doesn't work. Thanks Redline99 for the SSv2 help. Now since previous versions were on xbins, would someone be able to post this there?

Awesome!  I may be able to rip using only my DNS-323 with this.

I hope you get the last few kinks out!

Good luck with that, though the NAS doesn't look like it can fit a dvd drive into.

I have tried using uxrip under ubutu 8.10 (x86) on multiple computers using a ts-h945 drive with 0800 f/w (didn't work with older 1.5fw so i updated to 1.6, still doesn't work).

I always get the same error. here is the output with debug Code: sudo ./uxrip360v0.4a/src/uxrip360 -a rip -o ./360/ -s -C -D /dev/scd0 -d [Mon Jul 27 23:35:25 2009]:                         .__                  __ __ ___  |__| \   \  /  /\   _  \   |  |  \\  \/  /\_  __ \|  |\____ \  _(__  <

I was thinking of using the usb port with this: http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?topic=11943.msg78988#msg78988 I have root access on the DNS-323.

I already use the USB port with flash drives by loading a USB storage kernel module.

There's a whole community dedicated to tweaking this device and many other features have also been unofficially added.

It would be nice to rip and abgx from one command via shell script, perhaps even from simply plugging in the drive. The only bummer is the possible ssv2 issue: http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?topic=12077

Very nice

@yaywoop: Try not setting the device manually, and let it autodetect.

I've never used anything other than /dev/srXX for the location of the drive.

I've never seen this error before to tell you the truth.

Maybe you forgot to do the half-tray before boot for the regular 1.6 firmware.

I need to take more time reading other's posts.

Maybe you should eject the drive a couple times or use ubuntu 9.04 @neonpolaris: Make sure you have HAL functioning in that OS and that its seen as /dev/srXX.

I'm thinking it can work.

Thanks for the reply Coniger12. one of the setups I have tried is actually using the same usb converter as neonpolaris (on my netbook which doesn't have  a spare sata port) here is the output using that adapter with autodetect.

I ran the command just before closing the drive, it still fails. I get the same error when using a proper motherboard sata port so i don't think its the usb adapter.

Drive gets recognized as scd0.

I have never seen a drive with a /dev/sr* device file. I will try booting off a 9.04 disk later and see if i can get it working under the livecd. should it matter if i use a 64bit or 32bit os? I am beginning to think its my drive.

I might try the liteon again. btw the sam/tosh drive i am using works perfectly in XBC under windoze Code: sudo ./uxrip360v0.4a/src/uxrip360 -a rip -o ./360/ -d [Tue Jul 28 23:36:31 2009]:                         .__                  __ __ ___  |__| \   \  /  /\   _  \   |  |  \\  \/  /\_  __ \|  |\____ \  _(__  <

Coniger12, or anyone else, can you tell me what OS and hardware you are using?

Because i just can't get it to work. I have tried the usb adapter and direct motherboard sata with my TS-H943.

Get the above error. I have tried booting into a livecd (backtrack4) compiling and running it with the ts-h945 motherboard sata, same error I just tried backtrack4 with a liteon ix1.6 (yes i did the half tray thing) and i get this: Code: root@bt:~/urxip360-0.4a# uxrip360 -o ./out -a rip -d [Sun Aug  2 17:14:04 2009]:                         .__              __ __ ___  |__| \   \  /  /\   _  \  |  |  \\  \/  /\_  __ \|  |\____ \  _(__  <

Every other time it gives a "Lock did'nt work!" error this is a bit better than the ioctl1 error before but still.. why is it so? btw my mobo has an nforce4 chipset and it all works under windows with XBC

Sorry yaywoop, forgot about your reply. I have ubuntu 9.04 and have a nforce4 chipset with a Via 6421 chipset (SATA) PCI card.

Both work. I get the Lock didn't work every other time the command runs.

I'm thinking of adding a line in the output saying to run the command twice. I might have forgotten a couple things in the source.

Let me setup my Lite-on and get into ubuntu and I'll give you some feedback.

Ok here is my ix1.6-0800 sammy with the new stealth.c (compiled with the 0.4a version you posted earlier and Ubuntu 8.10 x64) I have posted the output for two runs.

First time the command is run it complains about the lock thing.. Its getting closer.

At least it doesn't fail immediately. the disk actually spins faster and you can hear it trying to rip the video partition.

Then it fails with "Video is invalid" I am trying to dump an original GoW2 disk and I can send you the 'final.iso' it creates if that helps.

Its a 5.3MB file Code: ~/urxip360-0.4a$ sudo ./src/uxrip360 -o ./out -a rip -d [Sat Aug  8 20:17:19 2009]:                         .__                  __ __ ___  |__| \   \  /  /\   _  \   |  |  \\  \/  /\_  __ \|  |\____ \  _(__  <
