Did i just hear what I thought I heard? (Tony cursing) - Sitcoms Online Message Boards
I watched Jeannie a lot when I was a kid and now as a much, much older "kid", ha ha, I am very much back into it.
So I have been watching the episodes one by one online, and I just started watching season 2, episode 28, "My Master, Napoleon's Buddy."
At about 2:08 into the episode, Tony and Jeannie have just popped into Napoleon's cocktail party, and Tony grabs Jeannie by the arm and says under his breath, what sounds very, very much like, "Jeannie, what the f*** are you doing?"
I knew this couldn't be possible, but it was so funny I laughed out loud and rewound it, and yes, there it was again.
I listened to it a third time and it still sounded like that was what Hagman said.
This episode was from April 1967.
I thought, the censors could not possibly have not caught this, was Hagman drinking on the set and somehow slipped that in there?
Was it a just bad edit?
I don't know, but it is very, very distinct and it is hilarious!

I think what Tony actually said is "Jeannie, what the heck are you doing?"

This is totally unrelated but on youtube (if its still there) there are some Dallas outtakes where the cast swears, and some staged scene where they swear at eat other.
There is one scene where J.R.
Calls Cliff Barnes of mother f**ker.
Its actually kinda funny.

I have a video tape of those Dallas outtakes.
Larry can get pretty colorful with his language.
I love the part, though, where Linda Gray looks at him, and is trying to think of some name to call him and then calls him, "Peter Pan's SON!" (which of course, Larry IS.)

...Tony reacts to seeing Jeannie on the patio floating on his beach towel by saying, "Get the hell off my towel!".
He mutters this, but he said "hell"...and that was a word you rarely heard on TV in 1965- yet he got away with it.
NBC objected frequently to even a HINT of Barbara Eden's navel turning up, but they overlooked that one word.
So I'm quite sure he didn't say "f*ck" in the other episode.

Actually the word d**n made its debut on a sitcom in March 1965, spoken by none other than the great character actress Doris Packer, probably best known from Leave It to Beaver (as Mrs.
Rayburn) and Dobie Gillis (as Mrs.
Osborne). The ep, in B&W in the show's 2nd season, was called "We Love You, Miss Pringle", about a tough teacher who has to retire.
From what I remember, she was given a watch, and she says "The d**ned thing probably doesn't even work." under her breath to cut the sentimentality of the moment.
I saw this ep on TV Land once after reading about this on a MFM webpage, and she did in fact say it then.
This show was also on very early in the evening, as MFM had the timeslot Sunday night between Lassie at 7/6 PM and Ed Sullivan at 8/7 PM on CBS.
MFM had the timeslot in the years after Dennis the Menace and before It's About Time.
Being a fantasy show in that timeslot, it certainly had a lot of kids watching it that night.
