Trying To Conceive - clomid/twins - The Mommy Playbook

Does anyone know the odds of having twins while taking clomid if you're not ovulating and the odds if you are already ovulating. I'm still not sure why doctors put some patients on clomid if they're already ovulating.

May start on it soon.

Just curious.

They will put girls on it who already ovulate so hopefully you drop more than one egg...higher chances of conceiving. I don't ovulate at all, and we're starting clomid in the next few weeks and I just asked my Dr this...She said for someone who doesn't ovulate you have a 20% chance of twins and 5% chance of triplets. I'm not sure about what the stats are for girls who do O already, but I would assume it would be pretty close to those who don't. Good luck & KUP!

I'm not sure of the odds of twins, but clomid increases your chances of conceiving simply because it increases the number of eggs.

More eggs = more chances for one to be fertilized.

I know that with any fertility med it can increase your chance in having multiples, even IUI is said to increase your chances just because you are inserting the sperm directly into your cervix and have a larger chance at concieving 2.

My twins were natural, no meds, no dr help, just me and the big man upstairs, well of coarse our donor too lol.

Clomid is said to help the release of eggs and sometimes multiple eggs soooo if u have more eggs you have a higher chance at more babies.

However identicals are made from just 1 egg and can happen to anyone!

Fraternal happen when mom has 2 or more eggs released in that cycle. i have twins and twin pregnancy to a T.

;o) hehehe have no idea what to do with a singleton pregnancy when i actually do get prego hope this helped sorry i dont know much about clomid but ALOT about twins

The results depend on what days you take it.

CD's 3-7 produces more eggs CD's 5-9 gives better quality.

I am one of the ladies that takes clomid even though I ovulate on my own on cd14 every month.

Almost all IUI's involve taking clomid to increase the amount of follicles.

It gives the woman a better chance of at least once of them being fertilized.

My RE has called it a "super ovulation" with the clomid.

I dont ovulate and took Clomid both times to get Preggo!

Ended up both times with Singletons...My Doc said the odds arent very high for twins on Clomid I think 5% chance is what she told me.

My OB told me 12% chance of twins.

It's interesting to hear 5-20% chance of twins...

That's a big range!

I was told by my midwife and obgyn 10% chance of twins.

I have always O'ed on my own but I was placed on Clomid to help produce a better quality egg and more eggs in the chance of conceiving a healthy sticky one.

I have a history of recurrent m/c's.

I'm very regular and O on cd14 like clockwork and my RE said the same thing.

He also said 8-10% chance of twins.
