So I was thinking about who would be on my comedic Mt.

Rushmore. As I sat there pondering (you know people dont use this word nearly as much as they shoud) the 5 I would chose, it began to evolve in a large group.

So I decided, what the heck, Ill count it down in the obligatory countdown!

I had much success with my Sexiest Women countdown, but my album review crashed and burned (No interest ).

Hopefully, this one might garner s bit of interest. So the two people who are going to look at this are going to wonder, what the heck is this guy talking about?

Well, my criteria is well, pretty much unexplainable, but ill try.

Im going to list the 20 examples of entertainment I have found the most comedic satisfaction in.

I think as the list progresses it will make a lot more sense. 1.

Monty Python [bot.

Pg 6] 2. Mel Brooks [bot.

Pg 5] 3. Richard Pryor 4.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 Crew [top pg.

5] 5. Peter Sellers 6.

Harold Ramis 7. The Daily Show and its Crew [mid pg.

4] 8. Judd Apatow 9.

George Carlin 10.

David Zucker [Top Pg.

4] 11. Adult Swim 12.

SNL 13. Larry David [Top Pg.

3] 14. Kevin Smith 15.

Dave Chappell 16.

Mike Judge [Mid Pg.

2] 17 The Office (British and American) 18.

The Tonight Show: Carson and Leno 19.

The In Living Color Crew [Bottom Pg.

1] 20. Wes Anderson

Will it be actors, directors or movies?

Or a mixture of all three? Comedy is the most subjective thing out there so I'm sure this will generate some discussion.

Or a mixture of all three? Comedy is the most subjective thing out there so I'm sure this will generate some discussion. Im concentrating on on people who did multiple things.

It wont be single movies, but more like writers/ producers/ long running TV shows with large and many connections, and comedians who were able to diversify (ala TV, Movies, ect.).

I think as I release the list it will make MUCH more sense then my lame attempts to explain it.

LOL.

LOL. haha, i'll read it, i normally read this kind of stuff, i may actually contribute to this as i know comedy somewhat having a mate who is a stand up, of course this is not the be all and end all. And i feel your pain on the album thing, i tried to introduce a band called chromeo, not a single response

Alrgiht im going to get this thing going with my Honorable Mentions . Now Im going to say right now, there is a HUGE GAP BETWEEN MY HM and TOP 20 in terms of quality.

But Im a person who loves all kinds of comedy, including dumb humor.

So before you say, ah man this list is garbage, please remember this.

With that out of the way Arrested Development - I HATE leaving this off.

But since it really only had three seasons, I cant justify putting it in.

I LOVE this show, its a top 5 funniest TV show of all time, and had it depending on how the movie turns out, it may find its place in the top....10! Sasha Baron Cohen - Now depending on how his upcoming movie "Bruno" turns out, he might one day sneak into the top 20.

Until then with the hilarious Borat and the amazing Da Ali G Show, he will sit just outside looking in. Matt Parker and Trey Stone - They too are just outside the top 20.

With South Park, BASEketball, and Team America they have proven alot, but with South Park losing alot of its charm, they have slipped.

If they throw out another movie, maybe, they might sneak in some day. Seth McFarlane - I dont care what South Park told people how they should think, Family Guy is a hilarious show and so is American Dad.

Not only that, but the stuff McFarlane has done with Robot Chicken has been classic.

He might be one of the better voice talents right now. Adam Carrolla and Jimmy Kimmel - Yeah, the first thing you think of is the Man Show, but that is the weakest thing they have put out.

Think about Loveline, Crank Yankers, the Adam Carrolla Show, and the solid Jimmy Kimmel Show.

Honestly, Corolla in the morning is one of the best radio shows out there.

"What cant Adam complain about" is shear genius. Eddie Murphy - Whats sad is a generation of kids are going to think of him as the guy that makes HORRIBLE movies.

Every kid MUST watch Eddie Murphy Raw at one point in their lives and Coming To America too.

At the top of his game, he was one of the best. Happy Madison Productions - Deuce Bigalow, Joe Dirt, 50 First Dates Anger Management, Grandmas Boy, and I Now Announce You Chuck and Larry.

These are all solid dumb comedies, and I loved all of them.

Sometimes, I think people get to contentious with comedy.

Honestly, comedy doesnt ALWAYS have to be intelligent to be funny.

I love all forms of comedy, including dumb and creud humor, shoot me. Eddie Izzard - One of my favorite stand up guys.

Dress To Kill is one of the best stand ups in recent memory.

Also, he is really, really good in The Riches. The Website Which Cant Be Named (Its got a number in it) - Ok, people are going to be like WTF.

Alright, as I said, I like ALL types of comedy.

If you can ignore the the u other stuff (The stuff you want to unsee, but never will) and concentrate on the comedy stuff, you will find the content rivals that of ANY shock comedian.

Some of the stuff is friggin genius. Bill Mahar - Real Time is a hilarious show, and I found Religulous equally as hilarious (almsot as funny as Mahar thinking he got snubbed for best documentary).

Bill is a love or hate kind of guy, but I like most of his material. Chris Farly and David Spade - Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, its dumb comedy, shoot me.

If you didnt laugh during Black Sheep or Tommy Boy, you dont have a soul.

. Bill Simmons - He might be my favorite writer, and nobody else (in my mind) blends sports and entertainment better than he does.

Simmons is pretty much the best thing ESPN and the family of ABC networks has, bar none. Alexander Payne - For Election and Sideway alone.

If he makes another comedy as good as those two, he would shoot all the way up into the top 20, Easily. Almost Live - Nobody outside of Seattle will know this show, but at its peak it was right there with SNL in terms of Late Night sketch TV. SCTV - Another Show right up there with SNL at its peak. MTV2 - Rob and Big, Wild Boys J@ckass, and Rob Dyrdek Fantasy Factory, Im throwing all those shows into this catagory.

Is retarded comedy, but hell is it funny, and im not ashamed to admit it . Now, there are going to be some omissions from this list Buster Keaton/ Charlie Chaplin/ Abbot and Costello/ The Three Stooges - These four are essentially the four pillars of comedy as we know it.

Unfortunately I havent seen much of them.

Now, the bits I have seen from them i LOVED, but until I make the much needed effort to see more Ill have to put them in the "Not Enough Info" category.

Nice honorable mentions, but there wasn't a way you could have bumped AD into the top 20?! Regardless of it being a short 3 seasons, it's still some of the most brilliantly layered comedy ever committed to the screen. Furthermore, is it wrong that I have SEVERAL websites in mind when I read this? Quote: : The Website Which Cant Be Named (Its got a number in it) - Ok, people are going to be like WTF.

As a show its top 5 material, but since it was only 3 seasons, and didnt do much else outside of the show.

I had to keep it as a honorable mention.

Like I said, if the movie comes out and is just as great, AD gets top 5 treatment. Oh and the one I mean um is Bret Farve + Jackie Chan.

I would not have even thought of Anon to even be considered, but props to you for mentioning it.

It probably would make my top 20 just because it is the ultimate time waster (along with ED).

Looking forward to this list!

For me, either Election or About Schmidt is his funniest work.

Heard great things about it though.

I'll be devastated if Mef & Red aren't on it since they aren't on the honorable mentions. With that being said, I look forward to this list as much as any arguably ever in the entertainment forum.

To be honest I left off all music.

But, How High is a hilarious movie.

Those two guys seem like some really goofy dudes who be be fun to hang out with.

"What cant Adam complain about" is shear genius. Bill Mahar - Real Time is a hilarious show, and I found Religulous equally as hilarious (almsot as funny as Mahar thinking he got snubbed for best documentary).

Bill is a love or hate kind of guy, but I like most of his material. Bill Simmons - He might be my favorite writer, and nobody else (in my mind) blends sports and entertainment better than he does.

Simmons is pretty much the best thing ESPN and the family of ABC networks has, bar none. Those are all some of my favorites. I'm very particular about my comedy, personally, and can't stand the random/gross-out stuff usually.

I hate Family Guy with a passion, can't stand all the Happy Madison movies...and plenty more believe me.

I'm far too picky.

I like some clever insight and wit to come with my comedy, and there aren't many people who can pull it off well.

All those listed above (except Corolla...I mostly kept that for Kimmel) can pull this off. Eddie Murphy used to be able to as well. By the way, was the best Jimmy Kimmel bit ever not the FOX pregame show picks he used to do?

Those had me rolling on the floor every week.

Fantastic.
