"This isn't like drafting a No.

1 receiver out of the college draft and then saying, 'Well, we think he's got all the skills to be a great player for us.' He's been in the NFL.

He's caught balls in the NFL.

They've got a lot of tape on him, and they had the ability to talk to a lot of people who had coached him, played against him, played with him". "If Roy Williams doesn't turn out to be the player they thought he would be when they made the trade, I think this would be one of the biggest busts in the history of the league."

He has a very good point, though.

They KNEW about Roy's ability before making the trade, and overpaid for him in the process. We'll see.

This is hilarious Score 1 for Mad Mayhew.... Teams are going to stop dealing with this guy if he keeps ripping them off.

That's funny. Lets see how Redding does this year.

If he finishes with 2 sacks and more 'hustle', this might be "Roy to Dallas" x2.

I think in two years, people are going to be saying the Cowboys made a good trade.

Even if he is incredibly productive there, though, I still think we did the right thing in dealing Roy.

I just don't think we ripped them off.

I am tired, I hope this makes sense.

The funny thing is we did it to the Cowboys twice, although less of role players Kitna for a starting caliber FS/CB is very laughable as well.

Gotta love Martin.

I am tired, I hope this makes sense. It really depends on what we do with our #20, #82 and #192 picks. If we find a stud, pro-bowl player at #20, this trade will be a huge success.

Really, if any of those picks pan out well, it'll be a success. It all depends on the picks.

Aikman is a fricken idiot.

Think about this guys, the Cowboys knew exactly what they where doing when they traded for Williams.

They knew the kind of player he is, and they know his talent.

He is established in this league.

He is a good WR. He can be great some times, and other times the worst in the league.

He is highly inconsistent.

But, the cowboys knew all this, they traded for him because they had a mediocre WR core with just T.O.

And they put all their eggs in one basket.

They went for the win, something the lions have not said in a long time.

That, to me, isn't a good deal.

Yeah the above description wasn't a good one for Roy. We did draft him at #6 overall in round 1 and we got less value back for that in return.

It's not like they gave up two 1sts for him.

They were trying to win the Superbowl.

It would've made more sense to me if they made that trade before the year.

As it was Roy was worthless in their system without going to camp with them. Troy's words could be used in Cutlers situation as well with the Bears.

I think Cutler is a safer bet than Roy though.

It's hard to fit a WR into the lineup mid season.

The Boys overpaid but Williams will be a good receiver for them.

Roy is going to do well this year. I think the Cowboys feel completely safe with Roy as their #1 WR. We have to remember EVERYONE is 'inconsistent' that plays for the Lions. Roy is no CJ, but he is a legit #1.

Here's to hope.
