Hello I am looking for bands similar to Poison (german of course), Merciless, Vulcano, Massacra and other bands that weren't really set into one strict genre but just played evil proto-death/black thrash.

I like stuff that has a raw edge... Well, the first Sadus of course.

DeadHead's "The Feast Begins At Dawn", Thanatos' "Emerging from The Netherworlds" And don't forget the old demos by Desultory ("Death Unfolds" especially), Necrophobic ("Slow Asphyxiation" and "Unholy Prophecies").

Slaughter's Strappado is mandatory of course.. By the way, did you already try R.U.Dead?, the band Uli formed after Poison was disbanded?

Incubus.

And don't forget the Exoto demo "The Fifth Season"

Overthrow - Within Suffering is a good choice, although it came out in '90 so it might not be what you're looking for.

If it came out in the 90s thats fine too I just meant more of the 80s style...incubus rules.

Quote: : Incubus. This this and this.

That was their former name.

They now Go by Opprobrium.

Hard to find anything similar to Poison.

I suggest some USA Thrash Death : Devastation, Deathstrike, Ripping Corpse, Revenant.

I suggest some I agree.

It's too bad they couldn't put out more stuff.

Although strangely enough I hear a lot of poison influence in Mayhem's de mysteriis...maybe I am just crazy.

Well, the first band 2 coin the term is sarcofago, on INRI.

And i think the album meets all criteria specified in the first post (it's black, death, thrash and all 3 alltoghether). i'll recommend some other bands, although only death/thrash related (i really don't dig black metal). demolition hammer (first two albums), aggressor (first 2-3), early sodom (some black influences), transmetal, invocator, etc.

Here are some links: sarcofago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAB4jWbRifg demolition hammer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etrb25WNE4A invocator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1b6M4Nfuik&feature=related

I grew up with both Poison and Sarcofago, but honestly: apart from the 'evil tone' in their music and the era they both come from, there are hardly any other similarities between them.

Just compare "Into The Abyss" to "INRI".

I just found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbMxbpNeNEM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLYeiJzDlOo&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjsvAGi8flc&feature=related

Morbid saint

Vomit (Nor) Quote: : Metal isn't supposed to be a fucking lullaby Karnstein Records www.karnsteinrecords.com

I though Possessed would be the first band to be mentioned... Quote: : Quote: : you are fucking rude Welcome to the Internet.

Disasterous Murmur for sure, you will love them! Broken Hope, Nocturnus, Abhorer, and lets not forget Scream Bloody Gore by the masters Death!

I'm assuming that you are aware of the early releases from Sepultura and Sarcofago.

You can't go wrong with these: Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death Infernal Death - Incantations of the Gates Sacrifice - Torment In Fire Mefisto - Megalomania Slaughter - Strappado Also, check out Holocausto, Slaughter Lord and Obscurity.

For newer stuff, give Deathhammer a listen.

It is dripping with old school atmosphere.

I'm listening to Sacrifice's Torment in Fire and I can't believe 2 things. 1.) This was released in 198fucking5!?!?

Beats the crap out of Seven Churches and Hymn to Abremalin. 2.) Why is the band listed as simply thrash metal on the archives?

Annihilator. Don't believe me? Alison Hell - 1986 Demo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7u-LN2gHy0 Gallery - 1986 Demo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27_xPLVHzuk

I second Devastation, Particularly the albums Signs of Life and Idolatry.

And to whoever said Demolition Hammer's Epidemic of Violence : yes, yes, yes, yes and YES!

No mention of Malevolent Creation's "The Ten Commandments"? Sure, it was in 91', but Death/thrash at it's finest! Sometimes, it reminds me of Sarcofago's "Rotting".

Vulcano's ''Bloody Vengeance'' should not be missed in a thrash/death metal fan's collection!

It came out in 1986 and way pretty much ahead of its time.

It's pretty bad produced and the album is just 23 minutes long.

Bloodfeast "kill for pleasure" blessed death "destined for extinction"

Slaughter Lord Necrovore Necrodeath Protector Holocausto Tormentor Master

Attomica - Disturbing The Noise Actually from 1991, it's basically ridiculous thrash more than death metal. Attomica - Ways of Death - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf7H2fixg0c

Sodom's first 2 albums.

You could go for some early Sepultura: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mfoSV9qhQI Incubus, as mentioned before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF3XwHACd_Q Nuclear Death http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwR_pYNIYMU Deceased http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fV9x-jiK-pQ Pestilence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QANUGx3XGHc Executer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-h5wJ36ymU Some are from the early 90s but they're all raw death/thrash.

I have some recomandations to make: num skull - ritually abused (us thrash/death, a more brutal version of darkness descend) infected - dark century (killer stuff from the swiss area with an ex member of messiah) energetic krusher - path to oblivion (obscure thrash from germany with death growls) graf spee - reincarnation (raw death/thrash from uruguay, with some vulcano, mutilator and early sepultura touches) toxodeth - phantasms (first dm band from mexic with influences from early death) massacra - final holocaust (classic stuff from france, very influental record from the late 80's, but was released early 1990) assesor - invaze (one of the greatest release from czech republic, killer stuff from 89/90)

Massacre, they fucking rip the old school.

Quote: : Massacre, they fucking rip the old school. You should be more specific, there's 7 bands named Massacre. I'll recommend Infernal Majesty, Bulldozer, Minotaur, and Agressor.

Death Strike. Carrot Soup Brutality

Hobbs' Angel Of Death
