Try losing/uninstalling all the logitec mouseware crap.
Then delete your mouse from Device manager and reboot.
When it detects the mouse, click on Have Disk, and browse to
the drivers for your OS on the mouseware CD.
May work....

Did you download the newest MW drivers and give them a shot (9.75 i believe).
There was a registry issue with the scrolling and the new drives were supposed to fix it.
also have you tried setting the wheel to autoscroll?

Autoscroll didn't help - newest drivers.
The middle button works but the scroller is not recognized.
This happens only in unreal2 and UT2003, but works with UT.
I will try with drivers only...

If it is a mx500 try this registry fix made specifically for UT by logitech..

The "uninstall all MW drivers" works perfectly for me ..
It's just the driver ..
And personally, MW isn't any better than the default XP mouse driver except that it tells me when my mouse battery (I use rechargeable) is critical ..
But heyy .. when my cursor won't move ..
I just need to recharge the Nimh and meanwhile, use my backup alkaline batteries ..
It's been a year and the backup alkaline batteries still almost full ...
got a little carried on there ..
Point is .. uninstall the useless mouseware from logitech and everything would be normal

You said winXP. I use win2k.
So I should find drivers only...
I know they are included in the install package...

Cool. Anyways, here is a link to the most recent version.
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?pa...9&languageid=1
Download the MW975ENU.EXE file.
Then, right click on it and open with winzip.
Sort by the path.
Extract the files for your OS.
(in the path )
Update your drivers pointing them to these files.
(You might have to boot to DOS and copy the lmouse.drv
to windows system if it is in use...)
I was having the same scroll problem, only with UT2k3 and only
if the MX300 was plugged into the PS/2 port.
This fixed it.
