Two Peas Message Boards - NSBR Board - "houston area peas - any traveling carnivals going on now?"

My dd needs to do a photo project this week, and i thought maybe longish exposures of carnival rides might be fun. anyone seen any traveling carnivals around town? i am on the northwest side. thanks.

There was one up in the Greenspoint Mall parking lot as of last weekend.

Don't know if it's still there.

In a pinch, though, you might just go down to the Downtown Aquarium.

I believe you can walk through the carnival area without paying any admissions (you'd need paid tickets to actually get on the rides).

I might be afraid to go to greenspoint! i thought of the aquarium downtown.

That might work. of course, she never wants to take my suggestions, so i am sure this will be a bad idea anyway! : ) thanks for the tip, though! how many rides do they have downtown??

I was about to say, there's always one over at Greenspoint.

Lol

I was about to say, there's always one over at Greenspoint.

Lol Don't you mean Gunspoint? At the Downtown Aquarium, there is the ferris wheel and a couple of other rides.

I haven't seen the ferris wheel running in ages though.

Is it still in operation? What about Kemah?

Are the rides up and running there yet?

Kemah boardwalk always has the rides, they are permanent and you can get some awesome shots there

There should be some around somewhere - it's time for the early winter season (they move south for the colder months).

The Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo starts this weekend as well.

I'll check around the SE side and see if I can see any carnivals set up - they like to hang out by Almeda Mall and the old Montgomery Ward on Spencer and Shaver.

I'd be afraid of Greenspoint, too!

No way would I go to Gunspoint!!

I think Downtown or Kemah would be your best bet. At Kemah you can walk all around the rides.

You don't have to pay unless you are riding. I haven't heard of any county fairs lately.

Well, we are running out of time for this six weeks, so we may have to go to plan b. kemah is good!

For sure! waller county fair carnival starts wednesday ...

Again, too late. greenspoint ...

Too bad it is at greenspoint! thanks for the help though!

Ft bend county fair is going on down here in rosenburg

I was going to suggest the ft county fair also....not sure when it starts but I am almost positive its usually the first weekend in October
