GameSpot Forums - System Wars - Reason I think PS3 has been destroying xbox360 in terms of quality games since08
It's not that the PS3 is humiliating the 360 it's that Sony is rewarding PS3 fans for supporting their system and MS is showing their fans that they never cared about the quality of games they put on their system or gaming in general (something I'vebelieved for a long time) and as long as they can make some kind of mediocore rehash and gets good sales they'll never put forth the extra effort.
The profit MS sees in the market, created mostly by the success of the PS brand over the years, is the only reason they are even here.
I don't mean to sound racial here but the japanese companies that made the industry what it is today (sega, nintendo, sony) were in the market because they wanted to create great experiences for theiri fans and it is apart of their culture (anyone who's been to japan can back me up on this)MS, the american compnay, ONLY jumped in because they seen the sucess the japanese made the gaming industry into and they were like "Oh shnit we can do it too." But what they lacked was the motivation to create something great for their fans, it was only about the money.
So the truth of the matter is xboxfans have humiliated themselves by buying and supporting a lesser system, with lesser (quality wise)games and being over charged for features for a system that should be standardand then say they are happy to do so all because it was "DA AMERICANZ SYSTEMZ" and your reward for all this is...downloadable contentexpected to be acceptedasgames, expansion packs packsthe price offull price games, and a promis from the parent company that they want to charge $50 more ($100 n total) for the online componet of their gaming that should already be free.
And all xbox fans do is say YAHH GO AMERICA lol.
You don't have to agree with me, but I'd like to see a better explanation for the situation we have here.
Oh yeah and MS closed down their internal game studios lol...what do xbox fans expect?

Note that this is only my perception of how I see things and what both companies do for their customers/fans.
Thus it's my opinion I just want to see if anyone else feels the same.

Ok your argument is in a way not smart if you dont have a launch console then you wont know what people went through when the ps3 first came out.
Now on to your other half of your argument.
Why are most of the japanese companies trying to appeal to the western market?
Why is it that the ps3 didnt really get good games until the last half of 07 and the multipalts on the ps3 played better on the 360.
They are both in the market to make MONEY if you do remember the 20 gig ps3 didnt have wireless and then the next iterations of the ps3 took out BC and then told people it was to keep down costs but it was really to get people to buy the crap that they were putting out on that system.
The online was also a joke until the middle of 08 but you keep the fanboy goggles on why i play my 60 gig with bc and my launch 360.

Let's be clear, Sony entered the games market to make money, not from some noble drive to "create great experiences." If the love of gaming were their only motivation, they would have entered the industry long before they did.
And no one buys a 360 because it's an American system.
They buy it because it has the titles they want, just as you bought the PS3 because it has the titles YOU want.

It's always about the money.
No one gives you anything for the passion of just "making games".
That's why when PlayStation was created it was a source of income and not a charity.
Sony didn't say "we make so much money off of other media, let's make free video games".
Sorry, but I do believe you are incorrect

In a nut shell
2006-2007: (technically PS3's first year since it launched holiday season 06)
360 = Halo 3 AAA, Graw AAA, PD0 AAA, Gears AAA
PS3 = 0 AAA
thus good games + sales sales sales was established for xbox 360 since then however
2008:
xbox360 = gears 2 AAA holiday season and..nothing
PS3 = MGS4 AAAA, Little Big Planet AAA, Resistance II AAA
360 maintained good sales but didn't need to do it with better games so MS bought some Muti plat's & closed game studios....
2009:
xbox360 = expansion of halo 3 OSDT AAA, and Forza 3 AAA
PS3 = Killzone 2 AAA, Infamous AAA, MLB the show AAA, Demon's Souls AAA
Even tho sony gained momentom they didn't stop trying to create better games they keep on while MS (being able to get good sales with standard or slightly updated games) pulls off simply because they are still making money.

I think you are making many false assumptions in both your ideas on MS and in your ideas of Sony.
Both companies care about money first and foremost, while each has a different strategy in how to please their fans.
Being satisfied with both company's methods, I find them both to be great for the most part and poor in some areas.

I always here lemmings say this...and then wonder why they only get 1 or 2 good games at the end of the year (holiday season sales), have to pay for online, and don't have games like Uncharted, Little Big Planet, and Demon's Souls made for their system.

[/Quote: ] It's been a dry year for them, but if you think people are whining because there are no exclusives, then your wrong.
I don't mind paying for online, howver my ps3 electricity bill is larger, maybe i should sell it.
See i can do this to, you don't have forza 3, gears 2, halo 3, BK, perfect dark, and the list goes on.

I'll tell you...NOTHING.
If you read my post Im not saying the other console producers don't care about money, my argument is that I believe MS ONLY, ONLY, ONLY cares about mony and I gave severl examples to back up my beief.
Do you have a reasonable arguement to back up the reason's why you think I'm wrong or is this just a knee jerk reaction to the comments I posted to just argue otherwise?

[/Quote: ] MS has spent money developing games for their fans (Crackdown, PGR, Forza, Halo, Gears of War, Kameo, etc), has embraced the Indie game market harder than any other console maker (XBLA), is the only console maker that allows anyone to make games for the system (Community games), all the community features involved in XBL, etc....

I hate when people pull the onipitant "you're so wrong I don't even have to argue" BS card.
You don't have an arguement, I don't have anyting against you but since you don't,don't try to make youself sound better than me.

[/Quote: ] You just have far too many logical errors in your OP, not to mention a selective memory as it relates to the prior history of the video game industry.
Hence, you are not starting from a solid base for your points.
Without a solid base, your points are not only opinionated (and you state that you had your preconceived notion before you even started looking at the problem which is a bad start), but you cannot accurately argue off the past like you try to do.
If you want a good discussion, you have to start the discussion with a quality position.
