I hope Paper Rose isn't being postponed (although if it was being postponed, you'd think Ariel would have mentioned that yesterday instead of talking about it as imminent).

I also hope they're not going to switch leads after saying it would be Rui Jia.

I googled the manga from the website you provided and it says the original author of the is Diana Palmer and the summary doesn't sound like it has anything to do with this drama that Ariel will be filming. Rui Jia is playing a rock singer here? Hmm..

I think he's got the skill to act like a rock singer for sure.

But singing, they can always do a stunt in the film.

They can easily have him lip synch and then get someone who is a singer to sing the parts instead.

Many idol dramas have had these kinds of stunts before.

Elloshions , I really want Bryant to act in this one too (well, in general, with Ariel as a lead in something).

He's actually a really good actor - I couldn't tell from his minor idol drama roles, but he does a great job in Eternal Summer.

That's the role that made me want to see him act with Ariel (IMG: http://images.asianfanatics.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif ) It's always hard on a actors when they're in their first lead idol role, because few people know or support them, but I think people will see Rui Jia in a new light when they watch Paper Rose.

And I'm sure Ariel has faith in her shi-di (in the same company), too.

Bryant does not fit the role..

It is better if it be singer or really a rocker who could portray the role opposite Ariel lin..

Also, rock singer encompasses a wide range.

I usually think of hoarse/scratchy-voiced singers when I think rock, but a few rock singers do have nice singing voices.

If the Next gossip is true, it’s kinda good/bad news, b/c it looks like either way, Jerry and Ariel can’t be in this one together, b/c of their schedules.

(There’s always Skip Beat, though, which should (?) be free for both of them next year). Azn_gypsy , Bryant has been the side character who liked Ariel’s character in Love Contract (his character had a gf, but still liked Ariel) and Tokyo Juliet (he was one of the 3 guys in Liang’s group of friends).

He was also in Seventh Grade with Ariel. Iriz , I was happy about the news at first, but it doesn’t look like Jerry will have time this year, or Ariel next year (Skip Beat and other projects).

So, unless Starlit doesn’t pull through (unlikely), I don’t think they’ll be in this one together (IMG: http://images.asianfanatics.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/bawling.gif ) (Skip Beat, though….?) It’s cool that there are 3 male characters in Paper Rose – I figured there couldn’t be just one!

I saw the same one, and thought it was exactly the same as the Next one, but now I realize it's not.

It gives some details on the storyline - that after the death of her musician boyfriend, the lead female character strives to fulfill his dream of becoming a famous singer.

It says that they're still considering Jerry for the role, and if Ariel participates, Choustar (the management company) requires that her "company siblings" (Rui Jia and someone else) also participate, in at least minor roles.

However, if Jerry participates, Paper Rose will be pushed back until next year, where it will clash with the timing for Skip Beat, the other drama that Ariel is supposed to be in and Jerry is still considering.

It also mentioned that if the drama is pushed back, and Ariel can't do Paper Rose (presumably b/c she's busy with Skip Beat), then the female role may go to Angela Zhang, assuming her health is well at that point.

Man, too many good dramas and good actors with busy schedules.

Guess we'll wait and see how true this e-news is...

It is known that Ariel Lin felt annoyed about this, and bears the thought of retreating from the cast. It is rumoured that the female lead has to be changed to suit Jerry Yan's schedules. The drama originally appointed Ariel Lin, Bryant Chang and Chen Chu He to take the leading roles, however, there have been a lot of controversies breaking out after that.

SETTV was not happy with the fact that Fated To Love You's very own male lead, Chen Chu He, was chosen to work with its opponent CTV.

Later, there were rumours speculating that the crew disliked Bryant Chang, and wanted Jerry Yan as the male lead.

They could even agree to postpone the filming date until next year, just to suit Jerry Yan's schedules, and to change the female lead from Ariel Lin to Angela Zhang. Ariel Lin felt bitter about this speculation, her manager Zhou Mei Yu felt assaulted on behalf of her as well.

According to inside sources, Ariel Lin has already discussed this matter with her manager, and they planned to retreat from this drama's cast list, as one of the problem solutions. If the drama will not be filmed, it will affect the coaching fees. If Ariel Lin really decided not to participate in Paper Rose, it will pose difficulty to CTV.

The drama was scheduled to be filmed starting on June, if it is not done according to the schedule, CTV will not be able to apply for coaching fees in the future three years.

One of CTV's directors, Chen Zhi Han, said that Ariel Lin has always been chosen as the female lead, and that they hope to be able to start filming on June. Regarding to the matter, the drama producer said that cooperation has to depend on fate;

I guess we'll see how everything pans out (since no decisions are made yet), but if I were Ariel, Rui Jia and River, and I knew they were seriously considering replacing me and my colleagues, I'd think hard about jumping ship.

Why wait around just to be replaced?
