Following on after Ming Dao and Ethan Ruan, who is Chen Qiao Ens next man?
SETTV upcoming idol drama <Good Health & Fortune>
Has approached Jerry Yan for the second time, inviting him to play the role of the arrogant and overbearing rich son;
Modified version of Dao Ming Si is expected to resurface.
Qiao En has the title of prosperous lady and Jerry is also the box-office guarantee.
Till now, Jerry is the only person that is able to let Taiwan enter the Japanese idol drama market.
One can imagine that if he collaborates with Qiao En, the resulting effect is bound to increase.
In the drama, Qiao En will play the daughter of a Chinese herbal medicine father, and her role will still be the one shes good at ordinary everyday girl.
As for Jerry, on the outside, his character is filial and courteous, but in private, he is all kinds of evil things;
Can be regarded as a villain character.
Everyone knows that Jerry has turtle feathers, he once considered a drama for 11 months, and during filming, he has considerable demands towards the scriptwriter, director, other characters and the environment.

Jerry Yan has king status in the idol drama world, and his contracts have never stopped.
However, he is famous for his turtle feathers personality and this has stopped him from making a breakthrough.
Even his rumoured girlfriend Lin Zhi Ling has stepped onto the international stage due to <Red Cliff>
Whereas he is unable to re-board that peak.
In particular, 3 recent idol dramas all have had their eyes on him but hes missed out again and again.
Not only does he lose a pay of $5million yuan, hes also given the opportunity to Wu Zun, Tender Huang etc.
Last year in November, at a promotional event in Japan, Jerry said: Ive felt like Ive gone down, Im not good enough. It seems that even he himself has recognised his future career concerns.
According to sources, he once considered whether to accept a drama or not for 11 whole months, and he will request to make changes to the script, even the director, other actors has to get his approval.
Although he insists on perfection, his over-critical nature has actually hugely restricted him.

Star Tender Huang to take over.
However, although Jerry accepted <Extravagant Challenge>, the drama faced script problems from the Japanese investment side and has now halted filming.
There are even rumours that suggest if the drama goes ahead in the future, the male lead might be changed to Wu Zun.
Other than this, SETTVs latest dramas <Fated To Love You>
And <Defeated Queen>
Have both achieved good results, and the following drama <Good Health & Fortune>
Is also highly anticipated.
The female lead is confirmed to be Joe Chen, and the drama crew previously invited Jerry to be the male lead, but after negotiating for a long time, in the end it did not work out.
Afterall, Jerry and SETTV both have quite strong opinions.
His pay for one episode is approximately $10,000USD ($350,000NT) and hes missed out on a total of $5million for 15 episodes.
Yesterday, Jerrys manager Fenny expressed: Because <Extravagant Chellenge>
Has stopped, weve approached a new job;
If it goes ahead in the future, we will do our best to co-operate with the schedule. Regarding Tender Huang taking up <Paper Rose>, his management company expressed: Currently under discussion, but nothing has been confirmed yet. As for <Extravagant Challenge>, GTV expressed that the resumption date for filming has not even been set yet, not to mention lead changes.

I will certainly watch this drama if it gets confirmed.

If I'm not mistaken, Extravagant Challenge is postponed as for now, so i think Jerry could take this role for the time being.

Well, I hope SETTV surprises me with the plot.
And QE's character shows some freshness and not the repeat plain and simple girl thing again.
Definitely will be looking forward to this drama and I hope the male lead can be Jerry.
Afterall, he and QE has never worked together before.

BTW, if this series really is on set and ready to go.
This series would start showing maybe around September-October of 2009 (second quarter of SETTV).
Because according to the past years, SETTV series lasts 4-5 months.
My Queen would finish around June.
Right after is Ming Dao's series which will start maybe June and end at October 2009.

Regarding Jerry, I am still skeptical that he will take it.
SET has completely lost all credibility when it comes to these types of news.
I just hope that QE will be paired up with some new.
Even an unknown is fine, as long as he can act and not JS.
Kinda hope that Roy Qiu will be in this drama.
He's a good actor, belongs to SET and certainly not lacking in the looks apartment.
I think he and QE will make a good pair.

Regarding the MD's drama and QE's drama airing dates.
Actually, none of the news out yet are really reliable.
One of SETTV's scriptwriter (involved in FTLY and Invincible Shan Bao Mei) mentioned earlier that it has not been decided which will come first.
After news supposingly revealed it as MD's drama coming first.
We just have to wait and see I guess.
i hope the early preparation for this drama will help ensure a good quality script.

But both of them are definitely underrated actors who have the plus point of starring in SETTV dramas.

Yes, i also hope Jerry will accept this drama , or not i hope they can choose another one also new and popular like Jerry, but i also wonder qiaoen's drama and mingdao's drama which one will come first , let's wait and see , but qiaoen seems confirmed she will act in this drama , i think we only wait for the male lead confirmed, but if qiaoen's drama will air later , i think i will miss qiaoen haah , cause we only can see this drama near of this year, i hope this drama will has a good plot , interesting and new like FLTY

The main lead is supposed to be kind of evil, right?
Up until now I have never seen Eddie in such role so it would be interesting hovewer I'm not sure if he would be able to pull it off.

I dont wish for Qiao En - River pairing.
Why Qiao En always has to play opposite of non-male lead actors?
People saw her and ShaoWei in PTF and wished for their pairing.
Now people wish for QiaoEn-River pairing.
Even Ethan was not a lead before FTLY.
Oh, please give QE an existing male lead actor.
Really hope Jerry would accept this drama.
No doubt he is one of the most influential Asian actors.
So, I really hope QiaoEn can act opposite of an established actor for once.

Personally, I think it doesn't matter if QE's acting with a 2nd male lead turned lead or an actor already a male lead.
In my opinion, some 2nd male lead actually acts much better than the few male leads we see commonly in Taiwan.
What is most important is that she can act with someone new (Meaning she has yet to work with them much) so that they can pull off new and refreshing chemistry and they can learn from each other's acting.
The only problem is that these 2nd male lead turn male lead might not be as popular in Taiwan now so the rating stress will be more on QE.
But FTLY and even Invincible Shan Bao Mei has shown that even if not both leads are deemed as highly popular or already in the big sister, big brother position, with a good script and directing, ratings will not be a problem.
If Jerry does act in this drama, the drama will air in Japan more quickly and at a better slot.
It might sell better internationally.
But even if it's a newcomer or someone much less popular than Jerry, I think a good drama will find its way to become known internationally.
Just like how FTLY managed to be aired in Korea, Japan, Phillipines, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, America (Some chinese channel in certain states) etc etc
Especially in today's world of internet.

Personally I think the success of dramas depends on three facts: script, director and actors/actresses.
Hot Shots and YYSJY already proved that casting top idols or popular pairings does not guarantee a hit (Fans of either shows please don't bash me, I am just stating fact).
I hope for a good script, one that is both fresh and appealing.
Personally I really dislike SET's promotional methods.
Really hope there will be no more stuff like over-focusing on bed scenes, naked swimming, co-star not getting along, stirring up rumors of male lead (like what I suspect with Jerry), scandals and all that crap.
But from their records, my hopes are dim.

I second that.
Rather has a drama that can showcast QE's acting and strong word-of-mouth.
Dramas that features highly popular cast, without good script, direction and acting, may be highly publicize but forgotten just as quickly.

From the interview that QE did with Baidu lately, she seems very certain that she will take on a SET drama soon.
I hope they change the name though.

Personally, i have nothing against these non-lead actors, in fact i like some of them more than some of lead actors they have today.
I see a drama because of its good storyline and acting too, not because of certain actors to be honest (except if it has QE in it) and i dont really care about ratings.
I just wish QE can work with someone established for once and see what is the impact on her career instead of her keep being labeled as bring good luck to her male co-stars..
I really hope she can work with someone like Takeshi Kaneshiro or Jimmy Lin, for once.
But maybe it's just a wishful thinking, so i root for Jerry instead even if this is just a rumour.
If he accepts this drama, then it is an indication that this drama might have a good storyline as we know how picky he is.

I remembered that Qiao En are supposed to have a drama with Tony Sun ..
And every magazines, newspapers and even in the interview both the lead confirmed about it THEN suddenly it didn't push thru

Today's news confirmed that Jerry won't be acting in this drama.
not that i ever expected him to.
the news also said that this drama will be taking over My Queen.
Hopefully that part is true haha
Since there has previously been news that it will be MD's drama instead.
I wonder who's the new male lead then.

Things like quality of scripts are subjective.
Why worry about this?
It's not as if Jerry is the authority on good scripts.
From the words in the article, this drama will succeed Defeated Queen.

I was also able to read that article.
So sad that Jerry wasn't able to accept this offer but hopefully a male lead would be announce soon and please let it not be a J-star.
For my first choice, I think Wu Chun can carry the "evil" male lead then followed by Mike He then Joe Cheng.
