Apple - Support - Discussions - Slow / jumpy / erratic Bluetooth mouse ...

Hello for: I have read (no definitive study) of a number of people having similar problems with the third party mouse you mentioned.

You might try it on another system to see if the behavior is the same. (10.5.6)

Hi, i've tried it on my bootcamp partition and everything seems to be working ok there, so it looks like it might be a problem within OSX Macbook Pro 17" Core Duo 2.16   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Hi again: Since it works on your system, I tend to agree that it is a software problem.

Did the mouse come with software driver or is it just plug and play?

I am fishing for a suggestion as I have all Apple Bluetooth products. You might also trash the preference file and restart (com.apple.bluetooth.plist). Barry iMac 20" 2.4 Ghz Intel-based/2 GB, iMac 17" 1.8 Ghz G5/1 GB, DSL, Firewire HDs   Mac OS X (10.5.6)

I'm not so sure its a software problem.

I had a Logitech MX5000 BT mouse and keyboard attached to a Windows system for 2 years.

Some days the mouse would stutter to where it was unusable, followed by days of perfect behavior.

Yesterday I transferred the keyboard and mouse to my MiniMac.

It only took 30 seconds to set up and it worked just fine for about an hour.

Then it started stuttering.

This morning it was OK again. I have spent an hour researching this through every blog I can find.

The bad news is that I haven't found anyone who has an explanation.

The good news is that everyone appears to be looking in the wrong place, because those masses of irate BT mouse users have all been looking in the same place. Everyone has blamed either the hardware or the software.

It is clearly neither since both are largely static for the purposes of this issue.

Computers are not erratic by nature.

Therefore if they appear to be erratic then there must be something going on that isn't self-evident. I would encourage everyone who reads this thread to post their findings on concurrent usage of system resources.

Whenever your BT mouse starts lagging, look at what else is going on in your environment.

Keep your system monitor up and running so you're ready.

I'll post my findings later this week.

Good luck. MiniMac   Mac OS X (10.5.6)

I also got a Logitech V470 BT mouse along with the new aluminum Apple Wireless BT keyboard for my MacPro.

No real issues with the keyboard, but the mouse has real issues.

I can connect it and it will work just fine, but after using it for awhile, its performance will slowly degrade until it is unusable.

I called Logitech and they were happy to send me a new mouse having decided that I had a hardware issue.

So just to see what would happen I attached it to my wife's iMac.

It works just great.

She is using it every day without any issues.

I moved to BT to get rid of some wires on my desk, and because the mouse that came with my Logitech S530 keyboard and mouse would become unstable at various times for no apparent reason.

I have thought that maybe the BT might have trouble getting through the aluminum side of my MacPro, but they keyboard is not having issues.

I even tried installing the Logitech control center which did not help.

What is especially frustrating is that I know it can work just fine, but then it becomes slow, jerky, and erratic for no discernible reason.

I will post here if I find a solution. Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.5.6)   2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon, iPod Photo 60GB, iWork '09, Bento

I have the same issue with my wireless mighty mouse and keyboard when i connect my Sony bluetooth headphones, the mouse and keyboard run very slow and choppy.

Am I overloading the bluetooth's capacity? iMac 20" 2.0 intel   Mac OS X (10.5.6)

I have this problem too Mighty Mouse and a dlink 655 router Macbook Pro Late 2008   Mac OS X (10.5.6)   4Gb RAM - Hard Drive 320Gb
