Money money money.. - TheSite.org boards
What does money mean to you?
Do you think it's the root of all evil as they say or the answer to true happiness?
I personally am shit with money.
I cannot save to save my life.
I'm not tight though, if I have it I will share it.
I think money does make people happy but it's not the answer to all happiness.
I just think if you had no money worries, life would be far simpler.
Less arguments, no worries, wider opportunities etc..
What are your views on money?

Money equals security for me.
It means having enough to eat, to clothe myself, to enjoy myself when I go to uni.
In that way it does equal happiness, but only in that having enough money gets rid of a load of stress.
As for saving, I'm a neurotic freak.
I'm saving roughly 80% of my weekly wage as I live at home.

Yeah I basically have the same ideas.
Money is fairly important but it's not the answer to all life's problems, and if you have too much of it, it can really mess you up, or if not, you just won't have the experience of going through financial problems and knowing how to budget.
I know if I was rich I'd be able to move to St.
Ives, have a mansion, but then if I had loads of money I wouldn't have many friends there bc the cornish ppl have been upset by rich ppl "buying them out of their land".
Money can be alienating.
Sometimes I'm rather glad I'm working class!

I don't think it can bring happiness, but i certainly think it helps.
It gives the security needed, the opportunities to go out have fun, holidays, shopping etc etc
If i had to choose between love or money ...which one makes the world go round??
I think i'd have to say money.

I am shit with money!
By one week after after pay day all my wage is gone!
Where is anyones guess.
But as yourself, i give generously when i have money!
I stress WHEN!!!
Personally, life would be a lot easier without money and the debt it inevitably causes.

Seriously? I find it hard to believe that money is more important than love to anyone.
You could spend your life spending money, doing all the things that you want to do but then what?
What about that lonely empty feeling?
Ok so materialisticly you have everything you desire but no-one to share it with..
I'd choose love over money any day.
You can always make money, or succombe by it, but you can't make love (well ) you know what I mean though..
This saddens me..

Completely agree with you there.
We need money to be ahppy with our surroundings, able to survive etc.
But money doesn't buy you love, companionship and true friendship, which are all equally important if not more so to be happy.

Money, it's just a means to an end.
When I have no money I'm fairly happy, I know the choices I make are gonna be restricted to what I can afford.
When I have money, suddenley I have to decide what to do with, how much here and how much there, can I truly afford to do this or that etc, etc merely having the choice doesn't make me intrinsically happy.

I'm not saying it's more important...I'm saying these days it is just as important.
I personally think you do need a certain amount of money to be happy.
Maybe i'm wrong, maybe i'm right.
It's just my opinion.

Money makes the world go round, its difficult to think of many things that are more important in determining the quality of life you lead, once you've got money most things will follow.

"Money isn't evil, love of money is" forgot who said that
Most of the memorable events in your life will have little to do with money and most of the happiness you experience will have nothing to do with money
