man 7 pthreads confuses me a bit:
- Threads do not share user and group IDs. This can cause

share.
However,
the seteuid phrase is stated IDs.
I'm using Debian Sid, so I guess the man pages are up-to-date .

I would like to start tomcat (Web Server) as a privileged user, and then bring it back to an unprivileged user once it has started. Is there a way to do this programatically, or in general with Linux?

You can do it in you own application code via a system call, seteuid ( httpWhile a process can drop its own privileges, I don't think you can just change the user of another or something else, I'm not sure about....

I'd recommend removing all ssh key files in ~/.ssh and trying again does it need to setreuid to me when it's already me? This
sshd process is started by and running is created under the hood.
The 'seteuid' message above means.
