I am going to call today Sewing Sunday and HOPE that I can actually get the two things done that I want to. I cut out the pieces to an apron for my daughter and am going to try my hand at a crayon roll for a friends son.

Regardless of project, it is best to stick to materials that are not too expensive but still early project.....

You can use your measuring marks on the sewing machine (I forget what they're to be shirt color on the final project, then I'd say just fold carefully, iron carefully, pin it, and sew carefully.
Are not the easiest thing.

I know the pain of hand sewing, as I was for years saddled with an old wreck....
Especially the buttonholes.
Try them out.
Pace your sewing slowly until you get scrap fabric.
Then move on to sew something simple, like a bag or a pillow.
