What is special about Ubuntu distributions that run on a PS3? Is there an 8.10 PS3 version out yet?

The 9.04 it, the packages are compiled to run on the PS3's cell processor and by default include packages & configurations to support the PS3's standard....
Ubuntu 8.10 for the PS3 was released Oct 30, 2008: Wiki here , and downloads here .

I have never used any wireless device with the PS3 except for the sixaxis controller.
If i select to register a new device, then the PS3 searches forever and never picks anything up.

DICE please, patch it in. I want to go on some long gaming sessions and since I only play with headphones, in-game custom music will be fantastic. The 360 and PC players can do this, PS3 is being left out.

It's just playing in a car in GTA.
This I wouldn't really call it a custom soundtrack on the 360 .
Xbox and PC allow media playback during any game, the PS3 does not.

Turn on your laptop....
It works through wired or wireless internet.
You have to do it from your laptop while ps3 is on, im not exactly sure how I did it.
You can enabled your ps3 to get files from your laptop from the Media Servers section.
