I have an ASUS P5N-EM HDMI motherboard. Currently, it's using an oldish P4 cpu. Works fine.
I just received a spankin' new Core2 Quad Processor Q8400 a few mins ago. Unopened, in the box.
I have no idea if this cpu will work in my motherboard...

C2q rating score in window 7 is 7.0 which is equal to i5 and i3 has 6.8 .. .
I3 has dual core and 4 threads so its not that much faster in gaming ... .
Go for c2Q 4 cores and 4 theads becx its still powerful machine than i3 .. .

Air based cooler?
beside....
