Anyone taken a look at mapping QAM channels to the guidedata of other channels?
Things seems to have changed with series 3, and simply pointing a channel to a station with guidedata doesn't seem to stick. A script to periodically recreate the QAM channel...

TiVo help thread. No Guide info/No TRUTV. Am I the only one? Okay, I called them (chat service is not available in my area). First, I got a nice lady. She flashed my card, or what-ever. No change, meaning missing line-up of COM,MTV,& NIK. No TRU mentioned...

TiVo's, CableCARDs and QAM, but this is beyond my difficult to do well - many
cable franchises do a poor job at passing along correct QAM info.

After literally 10s of hours over a few weeks, resetting tivo, contacting comcast, talking to tivo reps, I finally found one tivo rep that actually looked up the issue.
Apparently some comcast customers using tivo received messed up guide info, either...

Searched the forums and did not quite see anything exactly like my issues. For the last month, the TiVO has been stuttering from time to time, pixelated video, or stalling. Sometimes jumping back and replaying the video fixes it, so we don't think it ...

I've been able to recover Tivo drives that suffered the green screen issues.
To rejuvenate the magnetic material.

I hope someone here has "been there, done that" to help with this issue. I'm upgrading from TiVo Series 2 (old!) to TiVo Premiere HD in a few weeks. I'll be using a CableCard M-type from Cox San Diego (they will let me pick this up at the retail store...

And people have been reporting that the new software from Tivo is reducing what a Tivo will do without a subscription even more than before.

Does anyone know if you disconnect tivo service if your tivo box will still work as a "cable box". In other words to just use it to watch live tv, instead of renting a cable box from cox.
