The Realtek site specifies "A-weighting", maybe Creative calculates their SNR differently in total I found that onboard audio....
That said, I'm using a Realtek ALC892 on my Asus 24's 100dB.
Speakers aren't going to notice the extra clarity.

Okay, so I've just set up my DAW. Wanted to get it all working before i invested in an audio interface and a midi keyboard for recording.
I've tested out some demo songs in Reason and they sound crisp and detailed with my M50s. I can't imagine the quality...

I would go here and download the latest driver from Realtek Realtek with the RealTek device ....
Personally I would stick with the RealTek device for now but I would not rely on Windows to determine if my driver was up to date.
