Is the canon rebel xt and the canon xt the same thing? I am looking at a tripod and it says it fits te canon xt and I have the canon eos rebel xt and I was wondering of it would fit it too.

As for birding, you will have to buy another lens, such as the 70-300mm or larger lens .
It's no longer made and you will have to look around for a used one .
