I am 35 and hate me hair.... but still chicken to shave it.

It was a surprise, but the other surprise....
It was only when I shaved my head for charity back in the spring that I saw my hairline had receded as far as it had.
Your hairline and bald crown are similar to mine.
Problem solved.
No hair = no hairline.

I'd suggest running some carbon and doing a good water change on the system with quality... .
Are you feeding it phytoplankton? Are you dosing iodine or products with iodine? Neither is important, I would look more at contaminants or someone picking on it .

My temples have receded in the last couple of years. I slicked back my(no water) hair to show how far they've receded. I've always had a high hairline but I've noticed recession from the age of about 26 to 29. It hasn't moved much but I've noticed it....

You're in luck, apparently your maternal is bald pretty much, I was receding last year..
A receding hairline doesn't nessacerily lead to baldness.
