I've recently noticed that when I create private methods that set a few fields in the objects passed to them that Resharper puts up a hint stating that the method can be made static. Here's a greatly simplified example of the sort of method I might have...

It's not changing any of the class's properties, fields, etc .
I think that's definitely a prime candidate for a static method .

I have the Aurora, with the carbide/cobalt blade, and it works... .
You can spend from $7 on a Swedish firesteel mini, up and beyond $25 for the Aurora, both work .
It just depends on what you want, and maybe what kind of tender you might have or take or find .

There are many VNCs out there. realvnc , tightvnc , and so on. Which one would you recommend, or would you recommend avoiding the VNC protocol altogether? (And if so, in favor of what?)

If you're using Linux I'd highly recommend FreeNX) and then using it to log on ....
Ultra VNC, mainly for its Single Click addon.
I would recommend Ultra VNC , which now supports Windows Vista and has file transfers.
Voila.
And password.

With apt-get, you can include the switch "--no-install-recommends....
You can avoid recommended packages from being included in an install in Synaptic via Settings, Preferences, General tab: Untick "Consider recommended packages as dependencies".
From you my taste in music covers almost all genres but is fairly shallow so recommend me stuff that i almost certainly wouldn't run across even if i was specifically looking into some genre but which you think is awesome the one subjective caveat is ...

It supports....
The MySql GUI (free) from the same people who put out the database are pretty good too :) There is also Sequel Pro (free, open source, formerly called "CocoaMySql") I've been pretty pleased with SQL Editor .
YourSQL (free) is pretty good.
