Ive received this Webcor Regent Coronet R2R as a present, form a friend who frequents estate stales in search of old tube radios from 30-50-ies. It is in real nice condition, complete with external speakers (picture 3) and microphones. Its a tube unit...

You may want an old post but I just wanted to make an update... .
FWIW, many of those Webcor tubes are rebranded Mullards and quite valuable.
I made a list of Capacitor (and rubber belts) wanted to replace .
This Webcor 2360 R2R for a good look.
This animal was another of my "paid too much" purchases from epay. This is a mid '50's Webcor Musicale Hi-Fi record player that has the GE VR-II cartridge. There is an Aux input as well as a tape output. The amp has 5 tubes: 6V6 x 2, 12AX7 x 2, & 6X5....

That once you restore the Webcor changer you'll be happy with it as its fairly gentle to the records recordings, they cut them using a stereo lathe, so in effect it is a stereo record with identical it is a stereo record....

For a lifelong so-called "radio guy", this is a fascinating obit, inasmuch as I had no clue as to the provenance of that Russ Hodges call, which like all baseball fans, I've heard at least two dozen times since about 1962 .

In a Webcor tape recorder supply that don't look like that, but yet they have pretty large forward of this tape recorder was the frequent burning out of the solenoids.

Amp Builders? Soo I have the tube chassis of an old hammond organ, its got 3 el 84s, a 5y3 gt rec and 1 12 ax7... if I were to repurpose this into a guitar amp would it be advised to basically throw away the circuit board, transformers and the tube connectors...

It can be done.
I found a circuit on Schematic of doing a conversion like that .
I was looking for ideas on a rebuild of an old tape recorder amp.
