Got sidetracked by Honeycomb installed right now, but still on stock recovery.
Required to reboot into recovery.

I use Symantec Ghost for recovery when I already have an Image of that "broken" computer.

If you have your PC vendor for recovery....
recovery image is still present on the HP hidden partition, you may be able to manually start the factory reset from it without resorting to getting a new copy of the recovery media from HP.

I have no any CD for this laptop but I have HP recovery partition there and I need to install Vista back on main partition. I do not see any option to boot from recovery partition Could anyone please let me know how to do it? Thanks

You can get a restore cd from here:

I have a DV9000, but I think I removed the recovery partition so I'm going by memory.
I think there is an option listed in there to boot from the recovery partition.

The reason that the transaction logs are larger than normal is ALL backup approach .
Keeping your DB in Full Recovery to the point of recovery.
I'm not sure I completely understand your question, but here goes .
