The next....
This reef site would be chosen based on the ecosystem fishery users support.
I believe the first reef is best where it was proposed, being off Santa Barbara the second reef off Los Angeles or Orange county.
And dive them.

I hope once Reef Wise gets going, his hours open up a little.
I really like Reef Plus, but Steve lacks in the SPS department.
Needs a place that has a nice offering of SPS frags .

Once your corals not saying that in a home reef....
That in a home reef we are duplicating the sun intensities, but depending on the many variables on everyone's home reef lighting, a 6 hour high intensity photoperiod can work very well.

Will be in Cairns on Dec 27 after cruising the Great Barrier Reef on Zaandam and am wondering if we should do an excursion to the reef from Cairns also or visit the Kuranda Raill and Cable Car?
I dont really know what we will actually see of the reef ...

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at cruisecritic):
The Kuranda Railway and cable are both great....
If you really want to see the reef you need to go on a day tour to the reef and snorkel through the reef to experience see.
You will not see the reef as such from the cruise ship.
