I have the original single line reefing on my F36. How high above the boom do you stop the reefing line so that the forward hook works as intended? My main sail also has 3-4 cringles between the luff and the leech, but i guess these are useless since ...

When reefing the luff reef eye comes down to the deadeye fixed line reefing on....
I have the reefing lines permanently attached to the reef eyes in the luff of the sail with a bowknot.
Reefing is not a problem.
Finally back into reefing! Finally back into reefing after a long hiatus. Had my whole reef tank wiped out during the blackout that happened in the midwest/east coast back in 2003. Taken me this long to get back on the horse. Thanks for providing such...

Messed up and managed to put a bend in my Holt Allen jib reefing spar for my Shrimper 369. Will try to straighten but might break. Any idea where I can find a new?

It will reef just fine but will not unfurl, Its an intresting subject, with several important elements, the newer Continious Line Reefing spars make our old Holt ones looks very "micky mouse" a boat moored by me.

Well "reef" is a difficult thing to figure.

A couple times i will go out and i wished i could reef, i have a 83 so it has a reefing point but i dont know how/what to tie. so any pics or diagrams? thanks optikid

I hope and tie the line to the ....
Don't worry about the outhaul.
Then tighten the downhaul.
One brings the main all the way up, and the other is the one you use when you reef the main so the reefing gromets and tie them off.
Of the mast.
I'm sailing a Hunter 30 (1989). I would like to set up a reefing system that can be managed from the cockpit. I've looked at slab reefing diagrams etc. on line. All of them seem to require a block or blocks at the foot of the mast. I have two spare sheaves...
