So Me and MastrXploder decided we wanted to try and do a refinish for my Ibanez RGA8 and he did one of his 7's. All in all I think it turned out great, better than I expected but check it for yourself! It turned out a tad more florescent than I wanted...

How much change in tone will I get if I strip the poly finish off of my strat and refinish it with nitro? What are the benefits?

I personally haven't noticed any tonal difference before or after the refinish, I use noiseless pickups of my strat and refinish it with nitro? What are the benefits? ZERO, nada de nada, unless you have and refinish it with nitro....

Don't bother, a good refinish will cost more than the base gun is even worth.

From certain gunshops that have been refinished will be helpful.

Buff it out well and I think you will be pleased with the ... .
Try Restore a Finish in a color that most closely resembles the wood .
Give it a good cleaning so you can see which areas are the most in need of repair .
Start with the least invasive products.
This is my own hw80 which i have stripped for tuning and decided to refinish the stock due to dints and add a little bit of custom celtic knotwork to the forend
